Orientation
 Again welcome to St. Clare your training venue for Organic Agriculture
Production NCII.
 Today we will have orientation on the important aspect of the training
course you will undertake.
 Here in tesda we have COMPETENCY BASED SYSTEM
 What is Competency based training?
 It is a training delivery approach that focuses on the competency
development of the learner as a result of training.
 There are 10 CBT principles that we should follow such as the ff.:
 Trainee 1: miss KISHAN kindly read the first CBT principles
1.The training is based on curriculum developed from the competency
standard.
(The learning is based on CBC which is developed from the
competency standard derived from the TR)
 Trainee 2: MS. RICA read the second principle
2.Learning is modular in its structure.
(The AGRI CROP NCII course is composed of 4 CORE competencies.
Each CORE competency is ONE unit of competency and one unit has
one module. You need to be competent on one competency before
going to the next competency.
3. Training delivery is learner-centered and self-paced.
(you will be treated as individual with different learning styles and
training needs)
4. Training is based on work that must be performed.
(meaning our training will co-inside with our qualification in
AGRICULTUAL CROPS PRODUCTION)
5. Training materials are directly related to the competency standard
and curriculum modules
(So our learning material to be used are developed based on CBC
and Competency standards)
Okey, Trainee 3: miss ROSA, kindly read the next 5 CBT principles
6. Assessment is based to the collection of evidence of performance
of work to the industry required standard. (so my dear trainees, we
will be assess thru collections of your outputs. You yourselves can
follow your own achievement in the achievement chart and progress
chart.
7. Training is based both on and off the job components.
8. Training program recognized prior learning.
9. Training allows multiple entry and multiple exit.
10. Training programs are registered within UTPRAS. (unified tvet
program registration and accreditation system)
 So class, those are the 10 principles of CBT.
 Now lets discuss the 4 Dimension of Competency, before that we have
to be familiarize the 2 key terms in CBT: the skills and competency.
 So what is skill-this is a task or group of task performed
 What is Competency- a s skill performed to a specific standard. Under
the competency there are 4 features which we called the 4 dimension
of skill
 Task Skill- skill require in performing a task
 Task Management Skill- skill developed when performing a different
task within the standard while it is time bound
 Contingency Management skill- the skill acquired or our response when
we meet irregularities of our routines
 Lastly, the Job/Role Environment skill- skill acquired during out OJT or
life experiences. OK?

-Learn at their own rate within program guidelines.
-May request to receive credit for what they already know.
-May choose how they want to learn-individually, on a one- to-one
basis, in small group, in large groups or with audio-visuals.
