The Champion
Your passion for a game has made you a household name. You travel to tournaments
and festivals for competitions; some people travel just to see you.
You are alive. Your care is dedicated, determined, and pumped.

Choose a name and some pronouns.

Choose an animal:

● Greyhound ● Kangaroo
● Seal ● A rugged animal
● Chicken ● A cunning animal

Choose 2 you are when you are playing, and 2 you are when you are not:

● Focused ● A small god, or witch

● Blissful ● Lucky
● Energised ● Unlucky
● Feminine ● Cheating
● Masculine
Choose 3-4 to describe your look:

small god. prizes.
● An unreadable demeanor. ● A powerful game-face.

You cannot play all the time. Choose 1 off-season when you have no games
to play, and 1 season of full of tournaments. All other seasons are for
practice, exhibitions, and yourself. The descriptions below are merely
ideas. Tell the table about the game or games you play, and why:

● Tillsoil: indoor games are common, due to the mud

● Monsoon: those who brave the cold water enjoy the rough tides
● Bloommeadow: drier land is great for running
● Devildays: swimming beats the heat
● Swarming: bug-racing is the best way to flee hatching swarms
● Gateling: lazy games return indoors
● Firetop: heat and sun makes for rough and tumble games
● Grasping: last chance for a run or a cycle
● Snowblanket: skis and snowshoes are a must
● Frostbite: frozen ground and ice makes for solid footing
Pick 1-2 mentors who taught you to play and 1 whom you still hope to
impress:

● A Caring Family who dreamed of winning

● Cheerful childhood friends who loved to play
● A Resolute community obsessed with producing a Champion
● A Watchful Coach who brought out your best
● A Crafty Teacher who saw your potential
● You are, for better or worse, self taught.
● A Venerable stranger passing through
● An Empathetic and Many-Faced spirit that took a liking to you

Ask 1 to the left and 1 to the right:

● What strategy did I share with you?

● Who are my worst fans?
● Why do you enjoy playing games with me?
● How do you feel about my training?
Some things you can always do:

● Maintain your gear

● Train and Practice
● Dream of victory
● Play with friends
● Say “The odds are in your favour.”
● Spend a token to get through a crowd without being recognized.

During each seasonal holiday, choose 1 that you haven’t before:

● Gain a new teacher.
● Discover a new tactic.
● Learn a new game.
● Host your own game.
● Become a coach and mentor to someone else.
● Get a token if you skip a game to help with something more important
to another.
● You can always find a fan.
● Bravely face a major set-back in your career.
● Retire on your winnings to let the next generation try. Pick up a new
playbook and make a new character.
