Why choose China Classification Society?

Material and equipment are the essential parts of ships. The quality of products is the foundation and
guarantee of high quality ships. Therefore, marine product inspection plays a key role in the work of
ship survey.
CCS has a survey team with rich experience of carrying out marine product inspection. With the help
of effective control of all processes of the inspection including design, manufacture and test of marine
product and quality management, all of which have impacts on the product quality, the quality of marine
product is guaranteed to comply with the related conventions, regulations, rules and standards and a
prerequisite is in place for safeguarding the quality of ships and the safety of life at sea.
Periodically, CCS publishes “List of Approved Marine Products” (www.ccs.org.cn), making public
the qualified marine products approved by CCS with the aim to supply information to shipowners,
shipyards and ship design institutes to choose satisfactory equipment, parts and materials for
construction, repair and conversion of a ship.
CCS also performs inspection and approval of marine products for manufacturers worldwide spreading
over around 30 countries and regions including Asia, Europe, the Americas, Oceania etc. The products
inspected cover the industries of metallurgy, machinery, electronics, oil, chemical engineering and
shipbuilding, etc.

What materials and equipment need product inspection?

The products required by CCS rules for classification and statutory products required by international
conventions and regulations of the flag state shall be inspected by CCS, as well as products of third-party
test which mainly include the following:
