Project Scope Description:

The "eCentennial of Tomorrow" project aims to modernize Centennial

College’s Learning Management System (LMS), eCentennial, which
currently uses D2L Brightspace. The initiative focuses on either enhancing
the existing platform or transitioning to a more advanced LMS that can
meet modern educational requirements. This upgrade will enhance user
experience, support adaptive learning, and provide tools that increase
student engagement and faculty efficiency. Key features will include AI-
driven analytics, mobile-first design, and compliance with data privacy
standards.

Project Deliverables:

1. A comprehensive design document outlining the selected LMS

solution.

2. A pilot program demonstrating the LMS functionality and suitability.

3. A detailed migration plan, covering data transfer and system

compatibility.

4. Training resources, including workshops, guides, and a support

team, for onboarding students, faculty, and administrators.

5. Full system integration with the College’s SIS and academic tools.

6. An evaluation report post-implementation to assess functionality,

user satisfaction, and areas for improvement.

Acceptance Criteria:

1. The upgraded or new LMS must align with Centennial College’s

educational objectives and offer improved user experience,
functionality, and security.

2. The system should be compatible with mobile devices, feature data

security measures, and provide analytics and adaptive learning
tools.

3. Successful data migration, verified by system testing and feedback

from stakeholders during the pilot phase.

4. Training completion for faculty and administrators with evidence of

high user adoption rates among students.

5. Ongoing technical support and regular maintenance established for

the LMS.

Project Exclusions:
 Development of any in-house LMS (only commercially available LMS
options are considered).

 Customization of non-essential features outside project

requirements.

 Expansion of the LMS outside of Centennial College’s immediate

educational purposes.

Constraints: The project must work within Centennial College's academic

calendar to minimize disruption. Budget limitations and approval
processes may also affect timeline and scope adjustments.

Assumptions:

1. Centennial College leadership will approve the project timeline and

budget.

2. Vendors will meet security, compatibility, and functional

requirements within projected timeframes.

3. Faculty and student support for the transition will be secured

through effective change management and communication.

Schedule: The project will proceed over 12–18 months with key phases in
requirement gathering, vendor selection, system piloting, implementation,
and post-launch support.
