Job Description: Global Engineering Manager – Turkey & Indonesia

(approx. spend €20M)


Band: Manager
Location: Çorlu - Tekirdağ

Role Overview:
o As part of the Global Engineering Team, the primary purpose of this
position is to manage the end to end delivery of Capex projects in
Turkey and Indonesia in accordance to Upfield standards and best
industry practices
o The expected annual Capex spend is ~€10-million
o Partnering with the Supply Chain and Manufacturing Teams, the role
will ensure all Capex Projects are delivered on time, in-full and within
budget in accordance to the Upfield Project Delivery Framework and
best industry practices.

Key Responsibility Areas:

o Lead the execution of all Engineering projects in Turkey and Indonesia

o Lead expansion projects, including greenfields or brownfields projects

o Conduct Assessments and generate order of magnitude costing to


provide project feasibility insights

o Directs the change management process for Capex projects and


ensure that all impacts, aspects and risks are managed

o Lead project planning and project execution

o Identify and Lead the end to end Implementation of Value Creating


Manufacturing Initiatives that require Capital Expenditure

o Manage Field Project Engineers contract to Execute the Projects, where


appropriate

o Collaborate with maintenance managers in Turkey and Indonesia to


deliver step-changing Engineering Improvements and support OEE
Improvement Plans to debottleneck all plants

o Develop complete scope, URS documents and Capital Appropriation


Requests for all Key and assigned projects including Value Creation,
Business Continuity, Decarbonization projects

o Planning and execution of Mechanical, Electrical and Civils, Capex


projects and capitalized maintenance of Plant and Equipment
o Collaborates with Global Engineering SMEEs for front end and detail
design for projects and ensure alignment to Upfield Engineering
standards

o Collaborates with the P&I team to ensure that all innovation and
renovation projects are delivered on time and in full

o Responsible and accountable for cost management, schedule control


and procurement activities to key and assigned projects – to achieve
On-Time In-Full and on Budget for 100% of assigned projects

o Collaborates with Procurement in the running of closed tender process

o Ensure strict adherence to Upfield policies throughout the project


lifecycle

o Ensure collaborative approach to project management to ensure all


stakeholders input are taken into consideration

o Ensure proactive approach in tracking Capital Spend to ensure all


potential risks are timeously flagged

o Flexibilty to travel to all AMEA countries to ensure Project Delivery is in


line with business and stakeholders expectations

o Establish the budget, track variances and manage risks for respective
area through work with Finance and Key Stakeholders
o Identify Value Creation projects to create savings opportunities,
validate with finance, seek and attain buy-in for these projects, build
budget with other functions, realize and track savings

Skills and Experience Required:


 Tertiary Qualification in Engineering: Bachelor degree in
Chemical/Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
 Excellent Project Management Skills (Formal Project Management
Certification a plus)
 Advanced Computer software packages use and use of Engineering
software tools
 Excellent knowledge of Food Safety and GMP Standards
 Budgeting and Good Financial Acumen
 At least 8 years in a technical FMCG Engineering environment
 10+years of experience within Food/Bev/FMCG industry
 6+ years Project management experience; preferably with mid to large
scale investments of >€5-mllion range
 Strong engineering knowledge across Facility Design, Civils, Utilities,
Water, WWTP technologies
 General knowledge of food/beverage process and packaging
technologies
 Good knowledge of civils/utilities related Sustainability technologies,
LEED building design criteria, FMG and AIB requirements
 Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal,
negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
 Ability to work independently and within a team environment and
cultivate strong working relationships across the organization
 Proficiency in English in both verbal and written communication
 Enjoy working in a virtual and multicultural working environment

Reporting Channel, Contacts and Travel:


 This role is part of the Global Engineering Team reporting directly to
the Global Head of Industrial Capex Management
 Internal: Global Engineering Teams (Industrial Project Management and
Technology), Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and procurement teams
 Travel to site(s) for project meetings and implementions, Supplier
meetings, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), project meetings and
team meetings. Travel intensity as per job requirements to cover
project execution across 2 or more geographically dispersed sites.
