Alternative For Globalization
(This essay is centered to the negative effects of globalization in the community especially to the
minorities and marginalized community of the state or country (Philippines)).
If we are going for the complete change in the way that we live in this world and eliminating the idea of
globalization by restricting all of the connection that can affect the culture, social structure, religion and
changes in economy and change it to other structure that will help us to confront the disadvantages of
globalization, I think that would be very hard to be honest because we are instructed by the past social
structures to have a connection with one another to achieve peace and optimistically hoping for the
good will happen but right now we are in a tough situation because of the exploitation on the promises
of globalization in our life and obviously we already know what globalization is but we can use Alter
globalization to have a development in the neoliberal globalization to protect every individual from
exploitation, persecution and oppression.
So, from every leftist ideology suggest that equality must prevail in every sector of the community and
the law must not be marginalizing an individual by their race, social status, physical looks and philosophy
in life. This can help every community to voice out their rights to the community that suppress their
voices.
Egalitarianism (a philosophy stating that people must have an equal rights and opportunity) must be
applied to the system of the employment in the Philippines by giving every employee regardless the
classification of the position a benefits like SSS (Social Security System) for whose working for the private
sector and GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) for those who are government workers, Phil
health and other beneficiaries, even for those people who are in underemployment because they still
have a big role in the community and they do not deserve an unsafe and toxic working environment and
this is not only giving them the basic rights that every individual workers deserve but it must be
regulated in every possible way to ensure that there is no exploitation or using a connection just to have
an advantage that resolves into unhealthy competition.
This is the problem of the minority in the Philippines’ industry that solemnly cause by the disadvantage
of the globalization and the only way the people can think of is to work overseas and migrate which can
have a disadvantage for the economy of the Philippines. Improper regulation for the beneficiaries, Labor
contractualization, Information for the unemployed workers, working environment and also the
discrimination in the environment also the big problem of every company which is the global pandemic
and the problem in out agriculture which causes for the rate of unemployment and underemployment
in the Philippines.
These changes can be achieved by letting the workers to have a progressive union (note that some
companies are implying this for the security of every employee but there are some companies that are
not supporting this idea or implementing the union but still their concerns are taken for granted) that
will help every worker that having trouble regarding to the work environment in all account, unions
must be supported by a sector of the government to ensure that all of their complain, demands and
suggestion will be heard and also will be acted upon the concern.
Proper regulation in the Labor contractualization employment (a service or work that will only last for 5
months) we all know that En-do (End of contract) is a big issue regarding to the working industry of the
Philippines this leaves the workers in a blank place whenever their contract ends, so proper regulation
like giving the unemployed workers the beneficiary they can use while finding another job that will be
help them to garner their basic needs in life and even their wants. Even a sector of government that will
help them to find another job by giving them recommendation or if they are consistent and good at
work they can have a place to fit in the previous company (also it can be in a form of recognizing their
efforts in the workplace) this can help the hardworking employee to be secured because they deserve it
and also they deserve security regarding in their job and if not maybe they are still starting or a beginner
at work these sectors can still help them to find a job after being kicked out because of the contract.
Awareness is a stepping stone for the changes in every sector of the community, educating the
employees and the futures employees on their rights will help them to battle exploitation of the
employees in a company. They need a heads up on a dealing with a toxic working environment or an
unsafe workplace. In that said with a proper knowledge in the industry they have the capabilities to
defend themselves from the bad side of globalization.
This move will help us to confront the disadvantage of the globalization and to protect employees from
exploitation. The ideas are already given in some other part of the companies in the country but there is
still part of the country that still experiencing this kind of tragic.
This will also help the economy to battle the increasing rate of unemployment and underemployment
here in the Philippines. Helping every individual to have a job that can be helpful the Philippines to end
or decrease the rate of every individual who are in the margin of poverty.
