CHAPTER 3

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

This chapter states the research design and methodology used in the conduct

of the study. It includes Research Population and Sample, Sampling Procedure,

Research Instrument (test questionnaire), Data Collection Procedure and

Respondents of the Study.

Research Population and Sample

The target population of the study were the students of Liceo de San Jacinto

Foundation Incorporated namely the Senior High School for the school year

20232024.

Cluster sampling was the method used in this study were in researchers divide a

large group of population, and then select randomly among the clusters to form a

sample.

Respondents of the Study

The Senior High School student enrolled in Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation

Incorporated for the academic year of 2023-2024 were the respondents of the study.

The respondents were selected according to their availability and willingness to

participate in this research. The researchers were alarmed regarding the recent

decrease of enrollees for senior high school this academic year, resulting for

researchers to conduct this study under the above mentioned students.

Research Instrument

The research Instrument of the study was a survey question. The survey

questionnaires contains this single question (1). As a student of Liceo de San

Jacinto Foundation Incorporated, are you satisfied with the service that the school

is providing?

The second research instrument is the Likert Scale which contains ten factors: (1)

Lack of facilities (2) Bullying (3) Lack of events (4) Social and Academic stress (5)

Personal reasons (6) Peer pressure (7) Advance academic needs (8) Teachers

Factors (9) Financial Problems (10) Curriculum Disagreements that affects the

motivation of the students transfer to another educational Institution. The

participants will indicate their responses by marking the appropriate points on the

Likert Scale whether they Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, Strongly

Disagree.

Data Gathering Procedure

The following are the steps and procedures were done by the researchers in order

for them to gather data and information needed in this study:

1. The researcher asked for the approval of their Teacher in Practical Research

2 to conduct this study in the selected Senior High School Students in LSJFI.

2. The researcher organized all the documents that are necessary in conducting

the study.

3. The researchers asked for the approval of the respondents before giving the

questionnaire. The researchers explain what to do in answering the

questionnaires.

4. After the respondents answering the questionnaire all the information given

by them were assured to be treated confidentially.

After gathering the data, the results were analyzed and became the basis for the

findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES USED

The formula used in presenting the data below is P=F/N X 100 wherein P=the

percentage rate (%), F=frequency and N= the total number of respondents.

The formula used in presenting the data is: MEAN= SUM OF ALL

VALUES/NUMBER OF VALUES.
