Dashboard View
Intuitive Dashboard provides quick links to reports like Pay slip and Tax slip, Reimbursement
claims details, important notifications like Claim and Investment detail submission date.

Employee Profile
This feature allows adding a profile picture or changing the existing profile picture.
To change profile picture:
1) In the upper-left corner of ESS, click options icon, and then choose Change
Profile Info.

Change Password
You can change your password by referring Rules for Password mentioned at the left side of
Change Password page.

Reimbursement Claim
You can submit reimbursement claims and view and download the details of the submitted
claims.
Claim Submission
To submit reimbursement claims:
1) In the left navigation pane of ESS, click Reimbursement Submission under Claims
from April 2018.
You can view the claim submission page which provides employee details.

Note: You are required to click Preview before Submit only after providing all your details
under relevant tabs in claim submission page.
1) Click icon to add new claim.
2) Enter claim details and click Save icon to save the details.
Once you have reviewed the checklist, click Preview before Submit to view the submitted
claims details.

Once you have verified all the details entered and are sure to submit the details, click Submit
Reimbursement at the bottom of the preview page. You need to enter relevant details
required under Declaration section.
Note: Once you submit the form you will not be able to edit or re-submit the data.

2) Click Consolidated View link in claim submission page to view the approval status.
You can view claimed amount, approved/rejected amount and remarks for the
submitted claims.

Click link available in claim submission page to download reimbursement slip for the
submitted claims.
Select Claim Type from the drop-down list. Click Download the file to download the slip.

You can view the Instruction page which gives a basic overview of the guidelines to
be followed for the submission of the Investment details.

You can view Investment details submission page containing three sections.
Note: You are required to click Preview before Submit only after providing all your
investment details under relevant tabs in Investment details page.

Submitting Declaration and Actual
You can choose to submit either a declaration or actual proof by selecting the appropriate
value in the drop-down list under each tab.
If you are selecting “Actual” in the drop-down list, it is mandatory to upload the proof
document in “Upload Supporting Document” section.
Note: For sections including Prev. employer income, 80DD, 80U, the entries are considered
as actual submissions by default and are expected to submit proof document
If you update a line item as “Actual” you will be mandated to upload a proof document
When the document is successfully uploaded you can see it listed as shown below.

Note: You are required to enter a valid document type. The list of valid documents will be
displayed as shown below in case of failure.
Once you enter the Company Name and Income after section 10, other rows get enabled.
Once you enter the Company Name and Income after section 10, other fields (like Employee
Contribution to PF, PT deducted, Total tax deducted from income) gets enabled.
You are required to fill in Form 12B and upload the same.
Click hyperlink to download Form12B. Fill in the required details and upload.
Select Yes radio button to enter the password if the uploaded file is encrypted.

Note: Once the record is saved, you will be prompted to provide landlord‘s PAN details, if the
total annual rent paid exceed INR 1,00,000. If you have not already entered the Landlord
details, click edit icon to enter the details.
HRA details are successfully saved only on providing correct landlord details including PAN
and landlord’s name and address.
4. If the rent paid is different from a particular month, onwards, enter the new rent
amount for the corresponding months.
5. Check the amounts that are populated in the month-wise table based on data
provided in the table above and edit the periods as required.

To claim deductions under Section 24 and deduction of principal amount of home loan
(under Section 80C), click House Property tab of the investment detail submission page.
1. Click icon to enter house property details. You can add multiple rows to enter
details of more than one property if applicable.

2. Select Property Type as Self or Let Out from the drop-down list. Enter address details
of the Property.
3. Specify ownership of the property as Self or Joint. If the property is jointly owned,
you are required to mention what percentage of ownership is to be claimed.

5. Enter Date of Possession or Completion of Construction and Date on which the loan
was taken.
Note: To find the PAN details of the lender, you may refer the list of generally
available PAN details of lenders by clicking the link above the entry grid.
a) In the case of a Self-Occupied Property, you need to enter the full interest paid on
the home loan in the current financial year as per the certificate provided by the
financial institution.
b) In the case of a Let-Out Property, in addition to the above, you need to enter the
income earned from rent and the municipal taxes paid if any.
c) You need to enter the full amount of principal paid on the home loan in the current
financial year as per the certificate provided by the financial institution.
This will be considered under section 80C deductions subject to limits therein.
d. If you wish to claim Pre-construction interest, mention the full amount of interest
applicable.
Note: If you are claiming deduction on a jointly owned property, the applicable prorated
values will be displayed in accordance to the percentage of share in the joint property.

Note: You are required to check the Declaration for the section of House Property before
you save. Also, you can view the Total Net Income/Loss across all properties (Max of INR

3. Select Actual under Actual/Declaration field to submit the investment that has
already been made in the current financial year

Once you have selected the number of children studying, you are allowed to add only one
row under Child Expenditure Expense (Tuition Fee).
Note: The amount for Tuition fee and Exam Fee must be separately mentioned as per proof
document.
SECTION 80D
Deductions with respect to Mediclaim
Deductions under Section 80D are limited to the below amounts; in line with the beneficiary
of the medical insurance policy.

Select beneficiary. Enter Policy Number and Amount to be claimed.
Note: You are not allowed to enter amount greater that the eligibility for the respective
category.
Deductions under Section 80DD and 80 U are limited to the below amounts.

To claim deductions under Section 80DD & 80U, click “Disability” tab in investment proof
submission page.
For both dependent and self-disability, choose the percentage of disability. In the case of
dependent disability, you are required to choose the relationship of the beneficiary.

SECTION 80E
Deductions with respect to Interest on Loan taken for Higher Education
Deductions under Section 80E are applicable to repayment of interest on loan taken for
higher education from a financial institution or any approved charitable institution. It is
allowed for self, spouse or children or for a legal ward.
This benefit can be availed up to 8 years from the year on which repayment of the loan was
started.
Note: If you wish to claim Exemption for your legal ward choose beneficiary relationship
as “Children”.

You can preview the investment details entered under each in Investment detail submission
page.
Click Preview before Submit to view Checklist showing the list of investment details which
you have submitted for income tax computation.
You can also view the Checklist by clicking CheckList tab in Investment detail submission
page.
Once you have reviewed the checklist, click Preview before Submit.
The below preview screen appears. You need to enter your address at the top of the form as
per requirements for declaration.
Select the relationship of the beneficiary of the loan as well as the amount.
Once you have verified all the details entered and are sure to submit the details, click Submit
investment Proof at the bottom of the Preview page. You need to enter relevant details
required under Declaration section.
Note: Once you submit the form you will not be able to edit or re-submit or edit the data.
