500 WORDS WRITING ESSAY
Before asking how to improve and what strategies are going
to be used in critical thinking and problem solving, it’s crucial to understand why we should care about it at all. You see, we usually think very subjectively; people think based on their opinion, personal reasons, practice, and experience. Besides, a lot of our thinking is automatic because our brain wants to save energy. My own strategies that I made in my mind to help the students to learn in practice critical thinking and problem-solving through practical computation drills to manual experience computation and solving in real equation problem. Incorporated illustrative and narrative solution to show the visual process and explanation through correct answer. Provide an organized pattern or process and explanation while discussing the problem and answer solution in a clear and simple manner. Also providing a clear formula and correct order example so that the students have basis in showing and doing the activity correctly. Solve the computation in real life situation problem, so that the student knows the application of the said activities. In addition, apply innovative ways of teaching to students, making an interactive visual slide so that the student follows what is shown in the presentation. Use audio-visual presentation to have a diversity of learning experience by providing video tutorials. Make it clear to give instructions and directions to the students to avoid misunderstanding and misconception of any details in the activity and problem. Last take time or give free time to students to think about what all the activity or problem is all about. Additionally, Assign Critical Writing Assignments that motivate students to arrange, clarify, and support their positions. By doing this, you are giving students the chance to show off their ability to think critically and to express themselves clearly in writing. Students must show their arguments and provide evidence to back up their points of view, whether in an essay or research report. To write critically, students must also examine information, consider opposing viewpoints, and doubt the validity of sources—all of which help students improve their critical thinking abilities. Engaging in a hobby comes with its own set of difficulties that call for a distinct kind of mental processing. You can use creativity as a translatable skill, thus problem- solving exercises will help you while providing a healthy way to release tension. Pushing the limits of your abilities is another benefit of learning something new. Taking creative chances is constructive when you have a pastime. In problem solving my strategies are, assists students in comprehending the problem in question. Students must specify the final outcome before they may begin to solve difficulties. To effectively gain problem-solving techniques, this phase is essential. If you are successful in assisting students in determining the "what?" and "Why?", determining the response to "how? “be more straightforward. Give yourself adequate time. When organizing a lecture or tutorial, provide time for the following: comprehending the problem and establishing the objective (individually and collectively); answering questions from you and your students; creating, identifying, and correcting mistakes; and completing problems in a single session. As a mathematics teacher, my role is crucial in guiding and
supporting in their mathematical learning journey. Facilitating students is my primary role, where I facilitate my student learning process. By creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where my students are comfortable to ask questions, engaging in every discussion, and exploring every mathematical concepts.
My primary goal is also to help my students to develop their
critical thinking through problem-solving that is highly effective. First, I will present a real-world problem like a very common to use a half or double of a recipe. In this case, students will be able to use portions and ratios to be able to make a correct calculation for each ingredient. In that way students will help to boost their critical thinking skills not just critical thinking but also their interest in mathematics subjects. Second, I will encourage my student and explore different perspectives in every problem-solving discussion/summation. This also helps students to develop their deeper understanding of the issue and other multiple solutions.
As a mathematics teacher I will also put strategies to start
with the basic topic by understanding the fundamental concept before moving on to the crucial or complex topics. Second, let the student to understand not to memorize, as we all know that mathematics are not much involved in memorization but much more on understanding the process. Sometime, memorizations is necessary, but we mathematics teachers and students are more on understanding the concept behind the formula and theorem is what the most important of.
This understanding will also allow my students to apply their
knowledge to the new problems that are given. Third, practice regularly, I will let my students practice their mathematical skills regularly in that way they are improving their skills in mathematics. As we all know nowadays students are struggling in their critical thinking, where we the facilitator of the class are in charge of developing and enhancing their critical thinking. Critical thinking is and essential part of learning mathematics. Where it involves analyzing, evaluating, reasoning, and communicating knowledge and skills.
To help my students to practice their critical thinking, as a
teacher I will implement problem-based learning, argumentation, and analyzing and evaluating. First in problem-based learning, they will be actively involved and collaborative as they are given a problem to solve that will let the student engage in summation that will let their critical thinking works as they are remembering the process on how to solve, communicating their ideas, and generating the solutions. Second, in argumentation student will solidify their understanding, because this involves explaining their thought process when solving a problem, it can also help the teacher or peers to identify the any mistakes or misunderstanding in the students point of view. Third, analyzing and evaluating these are the core skills of the students critical thinking, where they will reason out their way of solving the problem and communicate the thought process.
We must always remember that our goal as a teacher is not
just to teach our students how to solve mathematical problems, but also to help them understand why the solution works. This understanding is how we promote critical thinking, tips in problem-based solving, enhancing students capability in reasoning. PETER JOHN P. OMBI-ON BSED MATH 3-A

In the field of education, teaching is much more than simply
imparting knowledge. It involves guiding students to become independent thinkers and problem solvers. As a teacher, my approach and strategies can significantly influence my students' ability to learn and practice critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
I will also give them a simpler solution for a complex
problem where I will break down the problem into smaller parts or consider a special case that can help my students to the underlying complex problems, by trying to solve it in simpler version of it. They are also allowed to double check their answer to make sure that there is correct/right if they missed any important process and also to make sure that their calculations are all correct.
Firstly, I believe in creating a learning environment that
encourages curiosity and questioning. I aim to make my classroom a safe space where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, asking questions, and challenging ideas. This culture of inquiry is essential for developing critical thinking skills. It pushes students to analyze information, seek evidence, and not merely accept information at face value. Secondly, I strive to provide real- world context for theoretical concepts. Drawing from my experiences and knowledge, I share practical examples and applications that help students connect what they're learning to the world around them. This relevance enhances their understanding and interest, serving as a solid foundation for developing critical thinking and problem- solving skills.
Thirdly, I present problems as opportunities for learning
rather than obstacles. I encourage students to view problems from multiple angles and explore various solutions. This approach fosters flexibility in their thought processes, a key aspect of problem-solving. It teaches them that there's often more than one way to solve a problem, enhancing their adaptability and problem-solving capabilities. Furthermore, I prioritize depth over breadth in learning. I believe that a deep understanding of a topic is more beneficial than a superficial knowledge of many. This approach allows students to delve into topics, identify patterns, make connections, and draw informed conclusions – all essential components of critical thinking and problem- solving.
Lastly, I model the problem-solving process for my students.
I demonstrate how I analyze information, make connections, and arrive at conclusions. This hands-on approach not only equips them with practical skills but also instills confidence in their abilities.
In conclusion, my approach as a teacher can significantly
contribute to the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills in my students. By fostering curiosity, providing real-world context, viewing problems as learning opportunities, prioritizing depth of learning, and modeling problem-solving, I can guide my students towards becoming independent thinkers and capable problem solvers. Teaching is not merely about imparting knowledge, but about shaping minds, and my approach is geared towards achieving this goal.
