CA FINAL STUDY PLAN NOV 24

4 REVISIONS IN 4.5 MONTHS

- By CA Shubham Aggarwal [AIR 15 (CA Final), AIR 23 (CA Inter) and AIR 44 (CA Foundation)]

Assumptions:-
1. You are on exam leaves from 15th June2024 (i.e. you have a total of 4.5 months left for study).
2. This Plan is mainly applicable for students appearing for both groups. Students appearing for single group can follow this plan for their respective subjects.
3. Per day study hours should be minimum 10-12 hours.
4. You are done with the lectures for all the subjects. Since, exams will be conducted under New Syllabus, it might be possible that you have done your classes
under Old Syllabus. This will be fine as we can cover all the changes in our 1st revision.
In case classes of any subject is pending, replace the time of 1st revision with the lectures of the subject and then plan 2nd and subsequent revisions as per
this schedule

Approach to revision:-
a) First of all arrange all the material for every subject that you require for revision.
- There should be material of a single author for concept notes and question bank of one author.
- Refer concept notes of any faculty that covers all of your ICAI SM (For this consult your seniors or peers or compare every chapter with ICAI SM after
reading it from your teacher's book. And mark the topics in ICAI SM which are not covered in the concept notes).
- Refer Question bank of any faculty which covers all questions from ICAI SM, Past 3 RTP, MTP and Past exam (For this consult your seniors or peers
or compare every chapter with ICAI SM after reading it from your teacher's book. And mark questions in ICAI SM which are not covered).
- It may be possible that you have main book and summary book/charts. In 1st revision, refer both (main book and summary book/chart).
During the 1st revision only, compare main book and summary book/charts and note down the points in your summary book that are not there.
- Make a proper sequence of subjects on your own and decide how many subjects you can study per day.
- For deciding sequence of topics in any subject, follow ABC analysis. Don’t skip Category C topics.
- Also, follow ABC approach while revising the subject. Devote max time to Category A and then Category B and C.

b) Read concept notes of the chapter first and then attempt the questions from question bank.
- While solving questions, do writing practice of questions in the ratio of preferably 1:10. You may practice more questions if you think you require so.
- Divide the questions into 3 categories - Easy, Medium and Difficult.
Easy - These are the questions that you will not be doing in subsequent revisions.
Medium - These are question which you will be reading in your subsequent revisions.
Hard - There are questions which you will solve in writing in subsequent revisions.
Note: These classifications should be as per your own capabilities. No one can do this for you.
- During every revision, re-categorise medium & hard questions.Till your last revision, you will be left out with 20% of original questions per chapter.
- For MCQs, solve ICAI MCQ booklet in 2nd or 3rd revision.
- While solving MCQs, categorise the questions as above and mark those MCQs which you will be doing in the next revisons.

c) After completing every revision of every subject, attempt a full syllabus 100 marks mock test of that subject in proper 3 hours sitting.
- You can refer ICAI MTPs for the same, if you don’t want to buy any paid test series. Attempt the test and self check it by comparing to suggested answers.
