    Yes, organizations can be profitable while making an impact in the society and environment, but it’s very difficult to keep up
    with both of equally important goals. For profit organizations usually make huge claims about social responsibility, but when
    it comes to effectiveness their resolve usually weakens. If an organization equally follows both goals, they might be able to
    run successfully and build their name, but in short term they need strong leadership, dynamic thinking and perseverance.
    Companies like ‘Tesla’, and ‘Digital Divide Data’ have significantly succeeded to keep up with CSR to an extent. According
    to Tesla: “In 2023, our customers avoided releasing over 20 million metric tons of CO2e into our atmosphere”.

    Following challenges can be faced by organizations while maintaining an impact in the society and environment:

    If an organization has high costs for making sustainable products and are in a country where social regulations are
    weak and less focused, it would be difficult for them to justify their costs. Similarly, its initially difficult to make brand name
    and gain costumer’s trust because of a lot of other organizations, uses the social impact tag just superficially.

    Also, it would be difficult for a startup with a goal to impact society and environment to get funding for investors
    who are focused on short-term profits.

    2.

    Yes, it is feasible to envision a world with minimum number of wastes. But there are a lot of changes that needs to be done.
    Some organizations, like ‘Patagonia’, nowadays are trying to do that up to an extent, but that’s not enough. In order to reach
    the goal of a world with minimum number of wastes, we need to make significant changes on organizational, governmental
    and societal level. To do so:

     Manufacturer needs to adapt eco-friendly materials. From Design to delivery, using sustainable materials would be
    essential.
     We need to adopt reusable materials. converting organic wastes to bio energy, and even using solar panels instead
    of other forms of energy.
     One of the most important roles in achieving the goal of world with minimum waste is that of government.
    Government can use rules, regulations and incentives in order to minimize waste.

    Challenges:

    There are a lot of challenges in the way to achieve these kinds of goals. There are technological barriers, economical barriers
    and some sort of cultural barriers.
