Lab 9: Transpiration

Pre-Lab Questions:
1. What are the physical and chemical properties of water that allow water to move
from roots to leaves?
2. What are the forces that provided for movement up plant by differences in water
potential?
3. What are the roles of transpiration?
4. What are the structures used by plants to transport water and regulate water
movement?

Question: How do environmental factors (i.e wind, light, humidity) affect the rate of
transpiration in an angiosperm? What are the functions of the structures seen in thin
sections of stem and vascular bundles?
