INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:
 This paper is made up of five questions equally weighted
 A candidate will use support fileswhere applicable .
 Answer any three questions
 All your work should be saved on the CD provided
 Candidates should continuously save their work
 Each candidate must produce a hard copy of each of the work on the
CD

Question 1
Open file saved as Repo2exec2016.RTF
a. Move the heading to become a header on the document. (01 mark)
b. Turn the heading into font size 36. (01 mark)
c. Put a dotted underline line just below the heading. (01 mark)
d. Apply a text boarder on paragraph 2 in the document (01 mark)
e. Convert paragraph three into a left column. (01 mark)
f. Increase indent by 1.2 inch in paragraph 1 (01 mark)
g. Line spacing for all paragraphs in the document should be set (01 mark)
to exactly 15 points.
h. Type the phrase “ACCEPT THE YIELDS FROM YOUR (01 mark)
EFFORTS” just above the first paragraph but not as a header.
i. Apply an outline font effect on the above phrase. (01 mark)
j. The table at the bottom should be moved in between the first (01 mark)
and second paragraphs and ever ensure that it does not overlap
any text
k. Format the table outside boarder to 3pt double line weight. (01 mark)
l. Type the words: Mangoes, Water melon, Pine apple, and (01 mark)
onions down words in the first Colum of the table
m. Split cells on the right of the first Colum in the table into 3 (01 mark)
columns and five rows.
n. Using a word processing inbuilt feature count the number of (01 mark)
words in the document and type the figure in the shape placed
on the left bottom of the document.
o. Flip the shape Horizontally (01 mark)
p. Change the shadow color effect to Red. (01 mark)
q. In your document, put a water mark of an image called Banana (01 mark)
from the support folder.
r. Make margin and page adjustments to ensure that all your work (01 mark)
fits on only one page.
s. Print a copy of the document (01 mark)
t. Save your work on a CD (01 mark)

Question 2
a. Using a relevant programme, open a support file called Sampling.

a. Insert an appropriate title above the data table (01

b. Merge cells in the row containing the title and center align it (01
mark)

d. Format the values in the basic pay column with SHSas units (01
mark)
e. Copy all the data and paste it to sheet two (01
mark)
f. Rename sheet two as FAMBA (01
mark)
g. The following details are provided for each employee
 Pay As You Earn 10% on basic pay
 Food allowance given at 12% on basic pay
 Medical allowance 30,000 to each employee (01
mark)
h. Use a formula to determine the following values for each employee
 Food allowance(in this case use relative referencing) (01
mark)
 PAYE (in this case use absolute referencing) (01
mark)
i. If the Net pay is equal to Basic pay plus allowances minus PAYE,determine
the Net pay

j. Use a function to establish the number of employees who earn a Net pay
of shs 500,000 and above. (01
mark)
k. With the following grading system, use a Lookup function to determine
the employees who are retiring after 1 year, 2years or three years.

16 or more years in service to retire after two years
10 or more years in service to retire after three
years

l. Create a bar chart including the Names, PAYE and Net pay of
employees(04 marks)
m. Transfer your chart to a new sheet. (01

n. Print and save changes and transfer the work to an external device (02
marks)

Question 3
Load a file called TAMBULA from the support folder provided.
a) In a master slide view, make the following settings on the presentation.

  All the main tiles should be set to font size 35. (01
mark)
 Chang body slide second level text to Red color.

 All headings should appear in Arial Black font face. (01
mark)
 Transfer an image called ENDANGERfrom thefolder and place iton
the bottom rightcorner on master slide.

 Adjust the image dimensions to 1.2 inches height and1.8 inches
width.

b) Insert a two Colum/content slide between slide 2 and 3 and on it type

three effects and three measures of industries to the environment.

c) On the last slide, Put a title “Organization chart” using Word Art
(01 mark)
d) Use the following summary to create the organization chart of NEMA
officers.

e) Write down one service of a secretaryas speaker notes on the slide (01

a) Load a file called Yeema Institutethat is in the support folder.

b) Change the name of table 2 to New comers (01

c) Using table 2, in Table design view, adjust the following
 Assign appropriate data types. (03

 Choose a primary key (01
mark)
 Include the Tuition field between Date of birth and Remarks fields.

 Put a validation rule in the tuition field Not to allow an amount less
than shs. 500,000.

d) Enter the following values as Tuition for Kaloli Charles, Nangwe Keneth
and Bosa Boaz respectively650,000; 500,000; 610,000(01 mark)
e) Create a form containing all the fields in New comers table and Save
the form as Discounts. .

f) Supply a formula in a form to determine 12% on Tuition as discount
offered.

g) Create a one –to- many relationship between the courses and New
comers

h) Create three queries to give the following results

ii. Calculate student’s current age. Name it Age (02

iii. Students names who are taking CRNW or ITand have not paid
tuition. Save it as Demanded

Question 5

You have been approached by the directors of Mango Traders Association to design an identity
card for their staff.
a) Open any desktop publication on your computer and divide an A4 size page using page
guides so that 8 identical cards are arranged and printed once (05 Marks)
b) The card should measure as follows (02 Marks)
 12 inches height
 15 inches width.

c) Get an image called Budge from the support folder to act as owners photo (01 Mark)

The card should include

 Personal details (04 Marks)
 Business name (01 Mark)
 Provision for signatories (02 Mark)

NB Separate the business name separated from personal details with a 4 /2pt double line

d) Make proper color choices for your card (01 Mark)
e) Include a header of your name and personal number (01 Mark)
