CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM
Introduction
One of the problems that the students facing nowadays is the lack of financial
support, which forces students to work while studying.Working while studying are students who
manage who engage in full-time/part time job while studying.
Working while studying assist students pay for their personal expenses and gain
valuable work experiences(Kerr et.,al.,2023).Furthermore, provides them opportunities and
benefits after college(Douglas 2019).However,there are still potential drawbacks amd that
includes pays that below the minimum wage rarely gives working students the chance to pay
for their college expenses. Moreover, students who work while studying are 20% less likely to
graduate compared to their peers who don’t work(Kerr et al.,2023)Hence,working while
studying students should handle their finances effectively to support their needs at home and
school.Working while studying must focuses on their studies more than job after graduating
and maintain their job to supply their needs. This study is crucial to our understanding of why
difficult to be a working while studying students,as well as how to cope with it and gain a
deeper understanding of it.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Work life study balance and the academic performance of the student has a significant impact
on each other, through questioning,we know how does the students handle their struggle and
how they deal their academic performance of the student.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
This study aims to address the struggles of the student dealing their academic
performance of all the senior high student enrolled in Noli National High School. There are two
variable that get concluded in this research study, including the work life study balance and
academic performance of the students.Hence, the research use the independent variable-
dependent variable model with the help of his model, the research will easily foresee the
possible result of this study.
INDEPENDENT DEPENDENT
FIGURE 2:
The schematic diagram
The schematic diagram showed that the independent variable is the work life study balance is
the one who affecting the dependent variable which is the academic
performance.Furthermore,it shows that the work life study balance of senior high school
students of Noli National High School affects their academic performance.
1. how does the work while studying affect your academic performance?
3.
HYPOTHESIS
Ho:There is no significant correlational between the work while studying students in senior high
school students and their academic performance.
Ha:There is significant correlational between the work while studying students in senior high
school students and their academic performance.
3.To provides the stress in personal life affect to their academic performances.
4.To prevent the stress in personal life affect to their academic performance.
The finding of the study may have significant benefits to the following:
Teacher: Can help them to prevent burnout and maintain their energy.
Students: Will help them to balance their academic and their work.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
To enhance the understanding of this study. They help the researcher to define the
study. The following terms are:
Work-life study balance - the amount of the time you spend doing your job.
Academic Performance – the way the students actively and attentively participate in the class.
Learning goal- is the mission of the teacher to promote a quality education to the total of the
students.
This main intention of this study is to find out to know the effects of the work life study
balance on students’ academic performance.Researchers will not deal with any issues that are
not related to the effects of work life study balance on academic performance of the student.
This study is limited to the senior high school students enrolled in the first semester of
the school year 2024-2025 at Noli National High School. To collect information, the researcher
employs questionnaires.
CHAPTER II
REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE
In this section, the researchers delve into the existing body of literature related to their topic.
The aim to shed light on the various factors that contribute to the problem at hand, drawing on
paststudies to help reader graps the research’s background thoroughly. Additionally, they take
the time to explain technical terms in simpler language to ensure everyone can follow along
easily.
The majority of students enrolled in Noli National High School today work at least part-time.
Although the benefits of working have been noted for years, institutions of higher education
tend to operate under the assumption that students should prioritize their academic careers
over their employment. First, review literature examining why students work, the benefits and
drawbacks of working, and the type of work that yields the greatest benefit to students. Next,
discuss policy recommendations and practice considerations for higher education institutions,
including: (1) removing or adjusting practices that dis-incentivize working while studying
students; (2) developing policies that utilize students' work experience; (3) providing on-
campus part-time employment opportunities; and (4) establishing support systems that assist
students in finding employment that works for them. It conclude by summarizing the state of
higher education today, noting the inconsistencies between students' realities and institutional
expectations, and recommending ways in which institutions may more fully support their
working students. (Remenick, 2021)

(3), 27-36, 2021 The challenges of achieving work-life balance in higher education have been
widely documented by previous education studies. Faculty who struggles with achieving
balance between their professional and personal lives due to the demands of higher education
may eventually become dissatisfied with their job in academia. Thus, the purpose of this study
was to examine the perceptions of non-tenured, tenure-track, and tenured faculty members'
needs to achieve effective work-life balance in their careers. The current study explores the
experiences of working students, especially in higher learning institutions in coping with the
challenges of working while studying. It is expected that the suggestions and time management,
commitment, discipline, and responsibility. Students tend to use up more time in using gadgets
than on studying.
CHAPTER III
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter deals on the overall approach of the research and its objectives. It describes the
participants and the sile of the study and also the sampling technique that was used. It also
discusses the role and responsibilities of the researchers, and the collection of data analysi.
Moreover, this chapter shows the Presence on how the researchers established trustworthiness
and credibility.
RESEARCH DESIGN
The researchers will use the Experimental research design. to examine how to manage #your
time, and also to know the emotions of the students experiencing rest hardship.
RESEARCH LOCALE
The research is conducted at Noli National High school during the first semester of the school
year 2024-2025. In order to investigate how student struggles their work and their academic,
the study primarily focus on Grade Senior high school students.
RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS
The participants of this study will be the senior high students of Noli National High. To give a
sample data
TABLE 1: Population of Noli National High School Senior High Students and the number of
selected students per section.
SAMPLING DESIGN
The samples were taken from the Senior High students of the Noli National High School,
Bayugan City, Agusan Del Sur. A simple random sampling will be employed in the study to avoid
any bias. Out of the 140 total students enrolled in this school year level, only 70 students
served as the main participants of this study. Research Instrument To gather the appropriate
data needed in this study, researchers used the research questionnaire to collect data from
respondents and to get information 1 I regarding the students' profile. In a different set of
questions, researchers formulated inquiries concerning how the classroom seating
arrangements affect students' academic performance. Each tactic will be presented on a 5 point
scale, with five (5) denoting strongly agree, four (4) for agree, three (3) for neutral, two (2) for
disagree, and one (1) for strongly disagree.

The researchers constructed steps and procedures to gather necessary data in this study.
Requesting approval to carry out the research. The researcher requested permission from the
school administrator to carry out this study. Our research adviser oversaw our study, "WORK-
LIFE STUDY BALANCE: THE STRUGGLES OF THE SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS DEALING THEIR
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE" which we carried out. Administration and retrieval of
questionnaires. To find out how students' academic performance is affected by their work life
study balance, the researchers prepared a survey questionnaire. The material in the survey
questionnaire is designed to make it simple for responders to grasp. Up until then, respondents
provided their answers, and the researcher gathered the information. Gathering and tabulation
of data. Survey questionnaires will be used to gather data for this study. The researchers
developed the survey questions in accordance with the findings of the research study. The
students who were I chosen from 8 distinct sections will receive the survey questionnaires.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT
The statistical treatment used in this study plays a crucial role for analyzing and interpreting
the collected data. Statistical Method are employed to have a valid and reliable finding. The
data were analyzed with the help of statistical 1 tools.
Percentages:was used to get the frequency of the effects of work life balance. Chart was
used to visually present the data that has been collected.
