capacities. Capacity of the plants shall be 2 Cub. M/day; 5Cub. M/day; 10
Cub.M /day; 20 Cub. M/Day, 25 Cubs. M/day and 50 Cub. M/day; varying
for different plants differently as per the grey water Plant schedule on the
Plumbing drawings) capacity 30M3/day.
B. Feed water Quality:
Made up of water from wash basins and showers, the light grey water to
be recycled must have low levels of BOD, suspended solids & shall be
disinfected.
Influent Water Characteristics
BOD5 < 150 mg/l 50 mg/l
COD < 300 mg/l 100 mg/l
Influent Suspended Solids < 150 mg/l
Total Dissolved Solids < 2000 mg/l 500 mg/l

Aluminum < 1 mg/l
Calcium < 20 mg/l
Magnesium < 20 mg/l
Sodium < 120 mg/l
Potassium < 8 mg/l
Chloride < 180 mg/l
Sulfate < 75 mg/l
Alkalinity < 60 mg/l
Total Hardness < 85 mg/l
NH4 < 10 mg/l
Boron < 1 mg/l
C. Permeate Water Application:
Permeate water shall be suitable for toilet flushing and irrigation use
only.

Residual Chlorine 0.5 to 2.0 mg/l
D. Waste Water Treatment Plant shall have the following Features:
1. A synchronized system allows the plant to work with peak flow, by
using equalizing pumps to stabilize the Hourly flow to the plant
2. Low electricity consumption.
3. Monitoring System.
4. The system is connected to a PLC which operates the plant via a
built in philosophy programmed to suit the process backed up by
an EPROM ready to load the program in case of failure in second.
5. Low Operation and Maintenance cost.
6. All metal works inside the biological tank transferring the
compressed air to the aeration system is made of SS 316 L.
7. All other items are made of UPVC pipes for plant interconnection
and internal plant pipes.
8. No Dry beds or dewatering tanks are needed.
2.02 STORAGE TANK
A. Treated gray water Storage Tank shall be of GRP panel type with sealed
access manhole, ladder, overflow pipe, drain pipe, vent etc.
6. Seal - Mechanical
C. The Booster set shall be provided with only one External frequency
converter, the Frequency converter power rating must be equal to the
power rating of one pump motor.
The frequency converter will control the first duty pump so as to maintain
the pressure in the pipe system until 100% of the rotational speed is
reached, subsequently with a further demand a next pump(s) with a fixed
speed will be switched on.
This is repeated until all pumps are active. Capacity decrease and /or
pressure increase will decrease the rotational speed of the frequency
converter – controlled pump until the minimum rotational speed is
reached, after which the pumps are shut down one by one.
The Frequency converter should change rotationally in the control panel
to all the motors in the system.
The speed controlled Booster set should works with a preset proportional,
Integration and differentiation amplification. With the possible failure
message of the Frequency converter the system will switch to “Emergency
Cascade” which implies that the directly switched pump(s) are switched
on and off based on a preset bandwidth
D. All wetted parts and piping of Booster pumps shall be produced of
Stainless Steel 316.
E. All bronze isolation valves at suction and discharge of each pump and
bronze self-closing (non slam) check valve at discharge of each pump.
F. Fabricated steel with resilient mounting for pumps, where required.
The Booster set shall be provided with only one External frequency
converter, the Frequency converter power rating must be equal to the
power rating of one pump motor.
G.. The frequency converter will control the first duty pump so as to maintain
the pressure in the pipe system until 100% of the rotational speed is
reached, Subsequently with a further demand a next pump(s) with a fixed
speed will be switched on.
H. Welded heavy gauge steel with epoxy coating on wetted areas & butyl
rubber diaphragm Suitable for 10/16 bar working pressure, pre-charged
with nitrogen.
I. Compound gauge at suction manifold, and pressure gauge of suitable
range at discharge manifold, Flexible connections at suction and
discharges connection.
J. The assembly shall be given two coats of primer and one of gloss enamel
at the factory.
K. Refer to the drawings and tables for the types and capacities.
2.05 INSTRUMENTATION
1. Individual pressure Gauges must be provided for each pump to indicate
suction pressure and system pressure. Pressure switch should be
included for low suction pressure to activate automatically reset alarm
system.
2. Anti-Vibration pad & temperature probe for each pump shall be provided.
