ACADEMIC COUNCIL, FINANCE COMMITTEE AND EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL MEETINGS

Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University conducted, meeting of 21st Academic Council on 14th
October 2024, 24th Finance Committee and 18th Executive Council Meetings on 15th October 2024 respectively which
were chaired by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Onkar Singh. In Academic Council various decisions regarding of dif-
ferent courses and programmes were considered and decisions were taken. In Finance Committee various financial
matters of University were considered and decisions taken. In Executive Council, various issues were discussed and
decisions taken upon them along with approval of the decisions taken in Academic Council and Finance Committee.
The meeting were attended by University officials namely Registrar Prof. Satyendra Singh, Controller of Examination
Dr. V.K. Patel, Finance Controller Mr. B.S. Jantwal and other Hon’ble members of respective statutory bodies.

INTERCOLLEGIATE CHESS TOURNAMENT 2024


The Faculty of Technology (FOT), campus institute of University, hosted the highly anticipated Intercollegiate Chess
Tournament 2024 on 9th October 2024, marking yet another successful event in the university’s tradition of excellence
in sports. This thrilling tournament brought together some of the sharpest minds from across institutes to compete in
the ultimate test of strategic skill and mental endurance.
The competition was open to both men’s and women’s categories, with participants coming from prestigious institu-
tions like the Birla Institute of Applied Sciences (BIAS), Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology
(GBPIET), THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology, Women Institute of Technology (WIT) and
other affiliated institutes of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. The tournament
provided a stage for the players to showcase their talent, determination, and love for the game, making it a truly excit-
ing day for all involved.

Men’s Category: Excellence in Every Move


In the men’s category, after intense matches that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, the following players
emerged victorious:
 1st- Chetan Kandpal fr om Birla Institute of Applied Sciences (BIAS) claimed the top spot with his br illiant
tactics and composed gameplay.
 2nd-Krishna Bisht fr om Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology (GBPIET) secured sec-
ond place, demonstrating impressive strategic moves throughout the tournament.
3rd-Ayush Nautiyal fr om THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology ear ned thir d place, mak-
ing his mark with skilful play.

Women’s Category: Grace and Strategy


The women’s category also witnessed fierce competition and exceptional talent:
 1st- Shubhi Mishra fr om GBPIET took fir st place, displaying unpar alleled master y and focus.
 2nd-Ayushi Sajwan fr om Women Institute of Technology (WIT) secur ed second place, showing r emar kable
strategy and resilience in her games.
 3rd- Ayushi Upadhyay, also fr om WIT, ear ned thir d place with her impr essive game tactics and per sever ance.

SINGING COMPETITION: VOICES THAT MOVED THE AUDIENCE

The Singing Competition featured a diverse range of performances, from soulful ballads to high-energy songs, making
it an unforgettable experience for everyone present. Held in the relaxed yet electrifying atmosphere of the lounge, par-
ticipants poured their hearts into their songs, captivating the audience.
The panel of judges, Ms. Anubhooti Papola and Dr.Shailesh Singh Panwar, praised the participants for their exceptional
talent. They noted that the competition was fierce and selecting the winners was incredibly difficult due to the impres-
sive level of skill displayed by all singers. The winners of the competition were:
1st Prize: Prashant Patwal, Faculty of Technology
2nd Prize: Shriya Tripathi, Faculty of Technology
3rd Prize: Pankaj Bhatt, Faculty of Technology and Akansha Verma, Women Institute of Technology.

POETRY COMPETITION: WORDS THAT TOUCHED THE SOUL

Similarly, the Poetry Competition, also held in the lounge, provided a platform for students to express their deepest
thoughts and feelings. The themes ranged from personal reflections to social issues, and the poets amazed the audience
with their creativity and emotional depth.
The judges for the poetry event, Dr. D. S. Gangwar and Mr. Deepak Singh Nijwala, both well-versed in literature, ex-
pressed how challenging it was to choose the best poets. They acknowledged the passion and artistry with which the
students delivered their pieces and praised their ability to connect with the audience. The winners of the competition
were:
1st Prize: Astha, Faculty of Technology
2nd Prize: Priya Arya, Women Institute of Technology
3rd Prize: Paras Chauhan, Faculty of Technology and Dimple Chauhan, Women Institute of Technology.

The Cultural Club,FOT congratulates all participants for their incredible performances. The lounge became a true hub
of creativity and artistic expression, thanks to the passion of these students. A special thanks also to the judges for their
invaluable expertise and for making the tough decisions in recognizing the best of the best.
The competitions were successfully conducted by the Cultural Club of FOT under the guidance of club coordinators,
Mrs. Anshika Garg and Mr. Mohd. Saaquib.
Finally, a round of applause for the winners, who embodied the talent, dedication, and artistic spirit of the university.
This competition has set a new standard for future cultural events, and we eagerly look forward to more moments of
brilliance on campus!

RECENT
NEWS

 University has scheduled the RDC meetings for PHD scholars which is scheduled from 14 October 2024
to 25.October 2024.

 University has uploaded a notification regarding filling up of examination forms for odd semester
examination 2024-25 and examination forms for even semester re-examination of B.Pharm course for
batch 2022-23 and batch 2023-24.

 University has uploaded a notice for the Online Counseling for admissions in B.PHARM, M.PHARM,
PHARM.D, & PHARM.D (PB) for the session 2024-25 scheduled from 8th October 2024.

 University has successfully conducted RDC for Ph.D students of CSE branch on 14.10.2024 and
15.10.2024. The RDC for other branches are scheduled from 16.10.2024 till 25.10.2024.

affiliated institutes and Campus Institutions to provide us information about the
activities which are held in their campus on or before 12th and 27th of every month
