1 Executive Summary
The Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India has taken up a massive Programme of upgradation and
development of Border Roads. The Border Roads of India are network of strategically important roads that are owned
by the Ministry of Defense. Roads are constructed and managed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). The BRO
operates and maintains over 32,885 kilometers of roads and about 12,200 meters of permanent bridges in the country.
The BRO operates in 18 Projects namely: Arunank, Beacon, Brahmank, Chetak, Deepak, Dantak, Himank, Hirak,
Pushpak, Sampark, Setuk, Sewak, Shivalik, Swastik, Udayak, Vartak, Vijayak and Rohtang tunnel. Border Roads
Organisation has been entrusted with the Project Management Consultancy including preparation of Detailed
Engineering Report for "Construction and improvement of Road Bakhasar-Mavasari from Km 0.00 to Km 32.49
(Design Length=31.703 Km) from existing CL-9 specification to NHDL specification under 45 BRTF of Project Chetak
in Rajasthan and Gujarat State.”
Project: - "Construction and improvement of Road Bakhasar-Mavasari from Km 0.00 to Km 32.49 (Design
Length=31.703 Km) from existing CL-9 specification to NHDL specification under 45 BRTF of Project
Chetak in Rajasthan and Gujarat State.”
The Construction Contract for “Construction and improvement of Road Bakhasar -Mavasari from Km 0.00 to
Km 32.49 (Design Length=31.703 Km) from existing CL-9 specification to NHDL specification under 45 BRTF of
Project Chetak in Rajasthan and Gujarat State.” has been awarded to us (MKC Infrastructure Ltd.) for a Contract Price
of Rs. 288,15,000.00. The Time for Completion is 730 calendar days. Commencement Date is 24.02.2023 and Contract
Completion Date is on 22.02.2025. At present the overall achievements against the targets set are shown in the table
below: -

The Monthly Site Inspection carried out by Team Leader & its team, along with representative of EPC Contractor
on 27.05.2024 at 10.00 AM from BM Road site start at km 00+000 to 31+703 km and inspected the site/works, and

 The Authority Engineer instructed the contractor to install safety measure to avoid any mishap.
a. Recommendation- It is recommended that cautionary sign boards, diversion boards, work in progress sign
boards, men at work sign boards shall be installed at construction zone as well as flagman is required for
guidance of road users and make the road in traffic worthy condition.
 The Authority Engineer instructed the contractor to start WMM work.
a. Recommendation- It is recommended to contractor to start the WMM work.
 Progress of Structure Work is very slow especially in Pile Cap and Girder Casting.
a. Recommendation- It is recommended that increase the Manpower in Structure work.
 Slope protection work progress is hampered due to shortage of Manpower and Material.
a. Recommendation- It is recommended that increase the Manpower and Material in Slope Protection work.
 It has been observed that procurement of bearing not done yet.
a. Recommendation- It is recommended to procure the bearing at earliest to avoid delay in girder launching
of Major Bridge.
(i) Review of Plants and Equipment:
1. RMC Plant: Installed at Ch. 29+760 and aggregate of Approx.600 Cum stocked for Concrete and GSB
stocked of Approx. 1200 cum.
2. Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) plant mobilized at Bakhasar Camp but not in working condition and Authority
Engineer instructed contractor to start the WMM plant at the earliest.
3. Hot Mix Plant mobilized at Bakhasar Camp but not fully installed, Authority Engineer instructed
contractor for fully mobilization of Hot Mix Plant at the earliest.
4. Non availability power supply for WMM Plant & Hot Mix Plant Authority engineer instructed contractor
to mobilize the DG for smooth operation of WMM Plant & Hot mix plant.
