Introduction:
In the 21st century, computing technology plays an increasingly important role in every aspect of
the society. Information computing Technology is an emerging field of study with a high scope
in the mere future. Technology is needed everywhere, whether in business, education, medicine
or in normal day to day routines. This field of study is changing rapidly as technology is
changing rapidly, but the core concept of Computer Sciences remains the same. The study of
Computer Science provides students with an understanding of fundamental computer science
concepts coupled with applied information technology skills to prepare them for careers in
computing technology. In addition to the computer science skills and abilities, students gain an
understanding of the human side of computing, the social, ethical and global issues related to
technology, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively through project-based
coursework. The field also requires core research to gain insight knowledge about emerging tools
and technologies.
Jinnah University for Women offers two degree programs under the department of Computer
Science and Information Technology i.e., BS(Computer Science) and BS(Software Engineering).
The department has eight software laboratories, one hardware laboratory having Logic Design
and Switching support. There are in total 5 classrooms and five faculty room. The classrooms
and laboratories as well are equipped with visual systems. The department has highly qualified
teachers having academic as well as industrial experience. There is also PhD faculty in the
department who are required for core theoretical courses. The department also supports
researches and encourages students to participate in conferences and software competitions. The
department also facilitates funded projects for Final year students. Final year project meetings
are called weekly and industry professional are hired for looking over the Final year projects of
students.

also available by the University near main Library and near university’s main gate.
A number of health care facilities provided for immediate treatment given to someone suffering
from an injury or illness like dizziness, or any other minor illness. Measures are also taken to
prevent hazards that could result in a serious and sudden injury or illness during conduction of
laboratories that would require not only immediate first aid but also further assessment or
treatment in an emergency.
All medicines and equipment needed to relieve from illnesses/injury are available for effective
12
treatment. The medical unit staff ensures that each patient should be treated at the earliest and
when they leave the recovery room or medical unit they have been treated/ cured. The medical
unit provides a clean, hygienic, friendly environment so that the patients recover as early as
possible.
To promote physical activities and healthy environment, students play indoor (card games, board
games; table tennis, carom) and outdoor games (tennis, badminton, cricket, athletics, basketball,
throw ball, volleyball) in their free time. A qualified sports instructor and Assistant Instructor are
present to guide and train the students for different types of interdepartmental tournaments.
The Sports Club organizes annual sports festival/gala in every fall semester. Students from all
faculties (Science, Arts, Business Administration & Commerce and Pharmacy) show keen
interest and take active part in the different games of the festival.
Jinnah University for Women hat its own radio station which has live Broadcasting from 11:00
am to 1:00 pm
