At the end of the lesson.the students will be able to:
a. write the proper article (a/an ) before each noun;
b. identify things around them using the article a / an; and
c. describe the difference between a / an.

A and An are the indefinite articles. They
are used before nouns.They are always
use with singular nouns.

"A" is used when the noun begins with a


consonant.

What are the consonant letters? (b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, 1, m, n, o, p, q, r, s,


t, u, v, w, x, y, z)

For example, a book, a pencil.


"A" is also used before words that start
with a vowel letter but the vowel sounds
consonant.

For example, a university.


The word starts with a vowel but the
vowel 'u' sounds as the consonant "y"
"An" is used when the noun begins with
a Vowel

member of both teams writes a plural noun,
the team loses point. Play the game for 10
minutes. The team which scores more points
wins.
