Shortlisting Matrix Template

Guide
This matrix should be used to methodically work through all applications to provide a record of
the selection panel member’s decisions. Shortlisting decisions must be based on the agreed
Essential and Desirable criteria to ensure that all decisions are objective and not subjective,
upholding the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion at all times. Prior to shortlisting all
panel members should read EDI guidance for recruitment panels. The shortlisting outcome and
reasons for not shortlisting candidates must be recorded for statutory monitoring and legal
purposes.
Prescreening question responses Selection criteria
Drop-down lists are provided for completion of the pre-screening questions. You can add your
own options using data validation, and adding to the validation lists in columns AM to AR.
