Program overview
At Ciena, we recognize the unique value and
needs of each of our partners. Through our
Services Accreditation (SA) Program, your
company can enhance its value with customers
and increase revenue opportunities by offering
accredited partner branded deployment and post-
sales support services for Ciena products.

Once accredited, you can combine your own in-


house service capabilities with Ciena-provided
support services to offer enhanced, tailored
services under your own brand. The availability of
skilled resources to implement & manage
Ciena & third-party networks can be leveraged to
accelerate your time to market and deliver more
comprehensive solutions to your customers.

As a CPNe partner, you can become services accredited in the following roles:

Partner re-accreditation requirements


There are ongoing requirements to maintain the partner-level services accreditation. You must
meet the comprehensive qualification and accreditation standards, as well as continuously
demonstrate your ability to sell, renew, and deliver high-quality services under your own brand.
Partner re-accreditation is completed on a bi-annual basis.
Individual engineer re-certification requirements
Engineers must complete the required training to maintain certification and must pass each
relevant product exam every two years. Depending on the frequency of new product releases,
knowledge exams may also be required annually. Experienced engineers may opt to bypass the
training and take the exam to earn their certification; however, after two failed exam attempts,
training will be required.
Accredited CPNe Partners are expected to monitor and maintain the certifications of their
employees, ensuring that employees with upcoming re-certification requirements are identified
at least 6 months prior to their renewal date. Ciena will work with our Partner to facilitate
completion of any required courses or quality audits prior to the expiration of their certification. If
a certified individual leaves the Partner employment, the Partner must immediately assess
whether that impacts the minimum number of certifications by role and product for which they
have been accredited. If the number of certified individuals falls below the minimum for any of
the services for which they have been accredited, the Partner must immediately notify Ciena
and commence work to certify an alternate individual. CPNe Partners will have 6 months to
identify, onboard, train, and certify a replacement individual.
