BLACK CAT
Materials
Yarn: Weight 6 + 4
Hook: 8mm + 5mm
Safety Eyes: 14mm
Tapestry Needle
Stuffing
Scissors

Stitch Abbreviations
Sc = Single Crochet
Inc = Single Crochet Increase
Dec = Single Crochet Decrease
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet Increase
Sl st = Slip Stitch
Ch= Chain

Head
In Black Weight 6:
1) 8 Sc into Magic Ring (8)
2) Inc x 8 (16)
3) (Sc 1, Inc) x 8 (24)
4-6) Sc around (24)
7) (Sc 3, Inc) x 6 (30)
8-9) Sc around (30)
10) (Sc 3, Dec) x 6 (24)
11) (Sc 2, Dec) x 6 (18)
12) (Sc 1, Dec) x 6 (12)
Place safety eyes between R7+8, 5 stitches apart
13) Dec x 6 (6)
Tie off, leaving 6" tail. Use tapestry needle to sew the
hole shut and secure end.

Legs
Add extra Hdc until you get to the centre of the back.
Lay the body flat to figure out how to place the legs
(There will be 5
stitches designated for each leg, that will leave 8 stitches
total
unworked).
Using stitch markers, mark 5 stitches for each leg, with a
4 stitch gap
in between on each side. Add extra Hdc to get to the first
st marker, if needed.

First Leg
Working the designated 5 stitches only:
1) Sc Inc x 5 (10)
2) Sc 7, (FLO Inc x 2), Sc 1 (12)
3) Sc 1, (BLO Dec x 2), Sc 2, (FLO Sc 3), Sc 2 (10)
4) Sc around (10)
5) (Sc 3, Dec) x 2 (8)
6) (Sc 2, Dec) x 2 (6)
Fasten off and sew hole shut.

Nose
Sew White yarn around centre stitch of R8+9
between eyes.

Arms (Make 2)
In Black Weight 6:
1) 5 Hdc into Magic ring (5)
2-4) Hdc around (5)
5) Hdc 3, Hdc Dec (4)
Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew onto the body.
Sew onto R2 of the body, 4 stitches apart on the front.
Ears (Make 2)
In Black Weight 6:
1) 5 Sc into Magic ring (5)
2) Sc 4, Inc (6)
3) Sc, Inc, White Sc 1, Inc, Sc 2 (8)
4) Sc, Inc, White Sc 3, Inc, Sc 2 (10)
5) Dec, Sc, White Sc 3, Sc, Dec, Sc (8)
Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew onto the head.
Fold in half and sew between R2+6 on either side of
the head.

Body
In Black Weight 6:
Begin by holding the head upside down and facepointing
away from you.
Note: You will be placing 6 sc into the bottom of thehead
(using Round 13 as a guide for stitch placement).
You will start the row at the back of the head.
1) 6 Sc into head (6)
2) Hdc Inc x 6 (12)
3) (Hdc 1, Hdc Inc) x 6 (18)
4) (Hdc 2, Hdc Inc) x 6 (24)
5) Hdc around (24)
6) (Hdc 3, Hdc Inc) x 6 (30)
7-8) Hdc around (30)
9) (Hdc 3, Hdc Dec) x 6 (24)
10) (Hdc 2, Hdc Dec) x 6 (18)
Do not tie off, continue to leg instructions.

Tail
In Black Weight 6:
1) 4 Hdc into Magic Ring (4)
2-14) Hdc around (4)
Fasten off with a long tail to sew onto the body.
Sew onto R7+8 of body, centered at the back.

Crescent
In White Weight 4:
1) Ch 7 (7)
2) Starting 2nd Ch from hook: Sl st, (Sc, Hdc insame st),
Dc Inc x 2, (Hdc, Sc in same st), Sl st.
Fasten off with a long tail to sew onto the head.
Sew onto forehead, centered between R3+6.

Whiskers
In White Weight 4:
Sew 3 whiskers on each side of the face.
Legs
Second Leg
Add Black yarn to front stitch marker on Round 10 of
body.
1) Sc Inc x 5 (10)
2) Sc 1, (FLO Inc x 2), Sc 7 (12)
3) Sc 2, (FLO Sc 3), Sc 2, (BLO Dec 2), Sc 1 (10)
4) Sc around (10)
5) (Dec, Sc 3) x 2 (8)
6) (Dec, Sc 2) x 2 (6)
Fasten off and sew hole shut.
Use the 10" tail to sew the gapbetween the legs.
