PRACTICE 1: The maps below show the development of an area before and
after the building of a hydroelectric dam.
The given two maps illustrate how the area surrounding Olive Drive has
changed since 1980. Overall, the area has become much more developed, with
the addition of more residential, commercial, and educational facilities.
To the Northernmost tip of the region surrounding Olive Drive, the park
has remained intact over the period. Additionally, a new school has been
established in the northeastern part above Olive Drive. A row of housing units
was built together with a new vehicle track, leading to the school.
Concerning the changes in the South of Olive Drive, the shops were
converted into a shopping center and a supermarket. The bank and the
community center were both reduced in size, and the bank was relocated behind
the center. Moreover, the area that once belonged to the bank is now a cafe, and
the hospital in this area has been situated at the same place over the given
timeframe.
