    Comprehending a doctoral work presupposes guidance and help from different


    quarters and in the process of preparing my present work, I received incessant support
    and guidance from all concerned which led to the sharpening of my spectrum and
    enlightenment of my vision. I earnestly recognize their benevolent attitude towards a
    humble researcher like me as without their support, the present research work could
    not have been come into being. I owe a great debt of gratitude to my supervisor Dr.
    B.K. Raina, Associate Professor, Law Center-1, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi,
    for his continuous support, encouragement, appreciation and useful inputs. His years
    of experience and readiness to discuss the issues and giving answers to specific
    queries contributed a lot to the quality of this work.

    I am also extremely indebted to Professor (Dr.) S.C. Raina, Senior Professor,


    Campus Law Centre and Dr. Vageshwari Deswal Assistant Professor, Law Centre -1,

    Lucknow who has been a motivator and a constant source of inspiration in my pursuit
    towards academic excellence.

    Professor In- charge, Campus Law Centre who contributed in more than one way to
    the completion of this work by creating an academically vibrant atmosphere in the
    Campus Law Centre and facilitating this research by balancing my teaching

    Last but not the least I shall remember the encouragement and tolerance
    exhibited by my two little kids’ baby Sargun Kaur and Master Kunwarjeet Singh and
    especially my mother-in-law, Mrs. Rajinder Kaur whose ungrudging inspiration for
    all these years kept the midnight oil burning. The completion of this work would have
    been impossible without the support of my family. Their contribution has been more
    than that can ever be acknowledged. My husband S. Harpreet Singh has contributed
