shop. This short guide is designed to help you edit your Canva template
and bring your vision to life. If you haven't found an answer to your
question, you can visit Canva Help Center by clicking this link.

STEP ONE

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Open the link to your template.


2. Click "Use template" button (image A).
3. Sign up with any preferrable method - Google, Facebook or
email (image B).
4. Start customizing the template (image C).

Add Photos and Videos
STEP TWO - CUSTOMIZE

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click "Uploads" on the editor side panel.


2. Click "Upload media" and upload the photos
from your laptop.
3. Select the photo and drag it to fit your design.
4. If you don't have your own photos, you can use the ones
from Canva Photo Library by clicking "Photos" on
the side panel.
5. Use the "Search bar" to look for specific
images or browse by categories.
6. Canva also has its own Stock Videos, that you can add
to your design by clicking "Videos" on the side panel.

NOTE

Most images, used in my templates I download from Unsplash.com. You will find a
lot of beautiful free photos there, that you can use for personal and commercial use.
Add and Edit Text

INSTRUCTIONS

Text toolbar

1. To add your own text, click "Text" on the editor side panel.
2. Click "Add a heading, Add a subheading, or Add a little bit of
body text" .
3. You can also use some premade "Font combinations"
4. Click on the text box added to your design to edit the text. Use
the text toolbar that appears above the editor to change text font,
size, color, spacing, and for more text formatting options.
5. Use "Copy style" or the paint roller icon on the top toolbar
to copy the style and formatting of text and elements.
6. Click "Duplicate" on the top toolbar to duplicate a selected
text box, or click the "Trash" icon to delete it.

Move, Add, and Delete Elements

INSTRUCTIONS

1. If you need to move an element to another spot in your design,


you can simply drag it to a new position.
2. To add a new element, click the "Elements" on the side panel.
3. Use the search bar to look for specific elements, or browse
suggested element groups by clicking "See all" next to each one.
4. To delete an element, select an element you want to delete
and click on the "Trash icon" from the top menu bar.

Change element color

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click on the element you want to edit and you will see one or
more color tiles on the top menu
2. Click the tile of the color you want to change and choose a new
one from the color suggestions.
3. If you want to choose a custom color, click rainbow icon on
the side panel to use the color picker.
Resize and crop elements

INSTRUCTIONS

1. To resize an element, select the element you want to resize and


then click any of the white circle handles on the corners and drag it
in or out. Click outside of the selected element to finish.
2. To crop an element, select the element you want to crop and
click "Crop" on the toolbar above the editor.
3. Drag the white crop marks from the photo’s edges to crop and
then click "Done" to finish.

Lock and unlock elements

INSTRUCTIONS

You can lock elements to avoid making unintentional changes to


them while you edit other parts of your design.
1. Select the element you want to lock and click "Lock" icon on
the toolbar above the editor.
2. To unlock, select the locked elements and click "Unlock" icon
Layer elements

INSTRUCTIONS

By layering elements you can arrange which element sits on top of


which.
1. Select the element and click "Position" on the toolbar
above the editor.
2. Choose "Forwards" to move it up one layer, or "Backwards" to
move it down one layer

Group and ungroup elements

INSTRUCTIONS

You can group elements to move or lock them together.


1. Click and drag your cursor over the elements you want to group.
You can also hold "Shift" on your keyboard, and click on multiple
elements to select them.
2. To group elements, click "Group" on the toolbar above
the editor.
3. To ungroup, select the group and click "Ungroup"
Align and position elements

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click to select the element you want to align.


2. Click "Position" on the toolbar above the editor.
3. Choose a position to apply it to the selected element.
This works for elements, text boxes, images, and videos. You can
also position grouped elements.

Undo and redo changes

INSTRUCTIONS

You can undo and redo changes made to your design in the editor.
1. To undo a change, click the arrow pointing to the left next to
Resize

2. To redo a change, click the arrow pointing to the right


Tip: Press CMD+Z (Mac) or CTRL+Z (Windows) on your keyboard
to undo, and CMD + Y (Mac) or CTRL + Y (Windows) to redo.

STEP THREE

INSTRUCTIONS

Now after you’ve edited your template, it is time to download the


final result.
2. Click "Download" on the top menu bar.
3. Choose PNG format and click "Download".

Slice the template

INSTRUCTIONS

Now it's finally time to slice the template into 18 separate pieces.
There are many ways to do it. You can slice it online using one of
the websites, or you can download a mobile app.

I think slicing online on a website is much faster, so I'll show you


two simple ways to do it (video included).
Slicing - Way One

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click this link.


2. Click "Choose file" and upload your template.
3. In the сutting settings add 3 parts in width and 6 parts in height.
4. For the output images format choose PNG-24.
5. Click OK and download the result.

Slicing - Way Two
SLICING WITH PINETOOLS.COM

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click this link.


2. Click "Choose file" and upload your template.
3. In the splitting options choose "Both (grid)".
4. For the output format choose PNG or JPG.
5. Split by (vertically) = 6.
6. Split by (horizontally) = 3.
7. Click "Split Image".

INSTRUCTIONS

Now after you have 18 separate


images, it's time to post them on
your Instagram.
1. Start uploading one post at a
time, starting from the bottom and
going up in a zigzag way.
2. When you upload all 18 posts,
start the same process again and
fill the template with new images
and text.
