The disassembly is done in the following order:

3.1 Battery Cover


Flip over the metal ring.

Push the knob lock in the direction of the arrow to unlock the
Battery Cover.

Disassembly

Raise the Battery Cover to remove it.

3.2 Battery
Insert the Front Opening Tool and lift the bottom of the
Battery to release it.

Remove the Battery.

3.3 Keyboard
Turn the phone over and open the slider.

Disassembly

Carefully insert the dentist hook through this hole and lift to
release the Keyboard in this corner.
Be careful not to damage the microphone/Key Flex
Assy just below the hole in the Keyboard!

Gently peel the Keyboard off by using the tweezers.


Scrap! Not to be reused!

3.4 Panel Key Dummy


Remove these two screws by using torx bit no. 6.

Insert the Front Opening Tool and raise the Panel Key
Dummy to release it from the phone.

Remove the Panel Key Dummy.

3.5 Lower Screw Cap


Turn the phone over.
Carefully insert the dentist hook underneath one of the two
Lower Screw Caps and remove it.

Do the same with the second Lower Screw Cap.

3.6 Lower Rear Cover


Remove these two screws by using torx bit no. 6.

Disassembly

Insert the Front Opening Tool as shown in the picture to


unlatch the snap hooks.

Use index fingers to pull both sides of the Lower Rear Cover
(1) in the direction of arrows and push the Main PBA (2) with
thumbs until the bottom side is released.

Lift the Lower Rear Cover and remove it in the direction of


the arrow from the Audio Jack.

3.7 BT GPS Antenna


Remove the two screws by using the JCIS No. 0 bit.

There are two hooks securing the BT GPS Antenna.

Unsnap this hook by using the Front Opening Tool.

Unsnap this hook by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the BT GPS Antenna.

3.8 Carrier Holder SIM and


SIM Flex Assy
There are three snap hooks securing the Carrier Holder SIM
and SIM Flex Assy.

Unsnap the first hook by using the Front Opening Tool.

Unsnap the second hook by using the Front Opening Tool.

Pull the Carrier Holder SIM little bit in the direction of the
arrow (1) and lift to unsnap the third hook (2).

Disassembly

Carefully open the Carrier Holder SIM in the direction of the


arrow to get access to the btb connector underneath.

Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Carrier Holder SIM and SIM Flex Assy.

3.9 Camera - Rear


Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Camera.

3.10 Main Antenna


The Main Antenna is secured to the Main PBA by two snap
hooks.

Unsnap one of the hooks by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Main Antenna.

3.11 Key Flex Assy


Insert the Front Opening Tool in this corner to release the
Key Flex Assy.

Peel the Key Flex Assy in the direction of the arrow to get
access to the btb connector underneath.

Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Continue to peel off the Key Flex Assy and remove it.
Scrap! Not to be reused!

Disassembly

The residues on the Shielding Can Lid and the phone


must be cleaned off before reassembly.

3.12 Main PBA


Release the bottom of the Main PBA by pushing it from back
by using fingers.
Two snap hooks (marked in picture) are holding the
Main PBA.

Gently raise the bottom of the Main PBA.


Be careful not to damage the FPC on the back of the
Main PBA.

Gently remove the Main PBA and place it next to the Hinge
Slider Assy as shown in the picture.

Disconnect the BtB connector by using the Front Opening


Tool.

3.13 Upper Screw Cap


Carefully insert the dentist hook underneath one of the two
Upper Screw Caps and remove it.
Scrap! Not to be reused!

Do the same with the second Upper Screw Cap.


Scrap! Not to be reused!

3.14 Front Cover Assy and


Navi Key
Remove these four screws by using JCIS No. 0 bit.

Insert the Guitar Pick as shown in picture and gently slide


back and forth to release this side of the Front Cover Assy.

Continue to slide on this side.

Continue to slide on this side.

The phone and the Front Cover Assy separated.

Disassembly

Remove the Navi Key by using the tweezers.

3.15 Navi Key PBA


Remove this screw by using JCIS No. 0 bit.

There are two hooks securing the Navi Key PBA. Insert the
Guitar Pick tool to release the Navi Key PBA.

Turn the Navi Key PBA in the direction of the arrow to gain
the access to the two connectors.

Disconnect this connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Disconnect this connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Navi Key PBA.

Remove the display by lifting it as shown in picture.

3.17 Carrier Holder VT Cam


Insert the dentist hook into the hole to release the hook of
the Carrier Holder VT Cam.

Remove the Carrier Holder VT Cam.

3.18 Camera - Front


Disconnect the Camera connector by using the Front
Opening tool.

Remove the Camera.

REMOVAL

Read the old Core Unit Label and/or write the information
into the ‘LabelMake’ program before removal.
Carefully remove the Core Unit Label by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Check that the proper label format is loaded in the Zebra


printer and write a new label by using the ‘LabelMake’
software.
The Core Unit Label has to be positioned inside the ‘golden’
frame as indicated by the pointers.

Place the new Core Unit Label inside the ‘golden’ frame as
shown in the picture.
One label only is allowed!

INSPECTION
To check whether the Liquid Intrusion Indicator has been
activated (reddish color), just remove the Battery Cover.

If activated:

REMOVAL

Push the Liquid Intrusion Indicator through the hole to


release it with the tweezers.

Remove the Liquid Intrusion Indicator.

Release the SIM Flex Assy from the three hooks by using

5.1 Camera – Front


Close the slider.

Place the Camera in its position.

Press to connect the Camera connector.

5.2 Carrier Holder VT Cam


Place the Carrier Holder VT Cam on top of the Camera –
Front.
Note the orientation of the Carrier Holder VT Cam.

Press to secure the snap hooks.


Do not touch the camera lens.

5.3 Display
Hold the Display and insert it at the top as indicated by the
pointers.

Reassembly

Press the Display down into its proper position.

5.4 Navi Key PBA


Hold the Navi Key PBA as shown in picture.

Connect these two connectors (1) and (2) by using fingers.


Carefully align the connectors before pressing! The
connectors are sensitive and can easily be deformed!

Turn the Navi Key PBA back to its horizontal position and
insert it into the two hooks.

Reassembly

Tighten the new screw (M1.4 x 1.6 silver) using the JCIS
No.0 bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

5.5 Navi Key and Front Cover


Assy
Place the Navi Key in the cavity of the Front Cover Assy.
Note the orientation of the Navi Key.

Press to secure its position.

Place the Hinge Slider Assy on top of the Front Cover Assy.

Reassembly

Press around the Hinge Slider Assy until the two units snap
together without any gaps.

Open the slider.

Tighten the four new screws (M1.4 x 1.6) using the JCIS
No.0 bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

5.6 Upper Screw Cap


Attach a new Upper Screw Cap on top of one of the screws.
Use new Upper Screw Caps.

Press to secure the attachment.

Do the same on top of the second screw cap.

5.7 Main PBA


Place the Main PBA next to the Hinge Slider Assy as shown
in the picture.

Connect the connector and press to secure the connection


by using finger.
Carefully align the connector before pressing! The
connector is sensitive and can easily be deformed!

Hold the Main PBA and insert it at the top as indicated by


the pointers.

Press the Main PBA to secure it to the Hinge Slider Assy.

5.8 Key Flex Assy


Hold the Key Flex Assy like this.
Use new Key Flex Assy.

Press to connect the BtB connector.


Carefully align the connector before pressing! The
connector is sensitive and can easily be deformed!

Reassembly

Insert the Key Flex Assy into the slot as indicated by the
pointer.

Attach this part of the Key Flex Assy to the Hinge Slider
Assy according to the guiding pins and holes.

Press to secure the attachment.

Careful when bending the flex over the edge, wrong


handling could cause cracks in components on flex

Attach the Key Flex Assy and verify that the two holes are
properly aligned with the pins on the Hinge Slider Assy.

Press the Key Flex Assy to secure the attachment.

Attach this part of the Key Flex Assy to the Hinge Slider
Assy according to the guiding pin and hole and press to
secure the attachment.

5.9 Main Antenna


Hold the Main Antenna and hook one end of the Main
Antenna to the Main PBA.

Press the other end of the Main Antenna to snap the hook to
the Main PBA.

5.10 Camera – Rear


Hold the Camera and connect its connector to the Main PBA
by using finger.

Place the Camera in its position.


Do not touch the camera lens.

5.11 Carrier Holder SIM and


SIM Flex Assy
Hold the Carrier Holder SIM like this.

Connect the BtB connector to the Main PBA by using finger.

Turn the Carrier Holder SIM and SIM Flex Assy to the
horizontal position.

Press to secure the snap hooks.

5.12 BT GPS Antenna


Place the BT GPS Antenna on top of the Main PBA in its
proper position.

Tighten the two new screws (M1.4 x 2.7) using the JCIS
No.0 bit to a torque of 10 Ncm.

5.13 Lower Rear Cover


Hold the Lower Rear Cover like this.

Insert the Audio Jack into the hole on top the Lower Rear
Cover as indicated by the pointer.

Press like this to snap this side of the Lower Rear Cover.

Reassembly

Do the same on the opposite side.

Tighten the two screws (M1.7 x 4.5) using the torx bit no. 6
to a torque of 18 Ncm.

5.14 Lower Screw Cap


Attach a Lower Screw Cap on top of one of the screws.

Press to make it properly attached.

Do the same with the second Lower Screw Cap.

5.15 Panel Key Dummy


Turn the phone over.
Hold the Panel Key Dummy and insert the two tabs to the
phone as indicated by the pointers.

Press to secure the position.

Tighten the two screws (M1.7 x 4.5) using the torx bit no. 6
to a torque of 18 Ncm.

5.16 Keyboard
Attach a new Keyboard in cavity by using the tweezers.

Press the Keyboard to secure the attachment.

Close the slider.

5.17 Battery
Clean the system connector by using the ESD brush
before installing the Battery.
Turn the phone over.
Insert the Battery at the top.
