General Instruction:

30. From a point on the ground, the angles of elevation of the bottom and top of a transmission

31. A toy is in the form of a cone of radius 3.5 cm mounted on a hemisphere of same radius. The
total height of the toy is 15.5 cm. Find the total surface area of the toy.

32. As observed from the top of a 75 m high depression from the sea-level, the angles of
depression of two ships are 30° and 45°. If one ship is exactly behind the other on the same
side of the lighthouse, find the distance between the two ships.
33. PQ is a chord of length 8 cm of a circle of radius 5 cm. The tangents at P and Q intersect at a
point T. Find the length of TP.
OR
A chord PQ of a circle of radius 10 cm subtends an angle of 60° at the centre of circle. Find the area
of major and minor segments of the circle.
34. A solid consisting of a right circular cone of height 120 cm and radius 60 cm standing on a
hemisphere of radius 60cm is placed upright in a right circular cylinder full of water such that
it touches the bottom. Find the volume of water left in the cylinder, if the radius of the cylinder
is 60 cm and its height is 180 cm.
