Cabinet fan
> optional access door on service side
Design Features
All side panels are exchangeable, which allows either in-line horizontal airflow or a 90 o deflection.

Casing
> frame made of extruded aluminium profiles, joined together by either plastic or aluminium corners
> side panels made of galvanised sheet metal with optional epoxy coating
> panels are insulated to ensure low noise levels
> optional access door on service side
> weatherproof version with aluminium side plates and weather-hood available

Fans
> direct-driven plug fans
> newly developed high-efficiency backward curved impeller made of steel with powder coated

Motor
WMF cabinets are equipped with speed controllable standard or external rotor motors, in single-
phase or three-phase. Multi-speed version with two or three speeds are available.

Special Applications
WMF cabinet fans are used to extract more heavily polluted air, for example from professional
kitchens. The impeller is then driven by a standard motor mounted outside airstream. In this version,
airflow direction in 90o deflection.

Installation and maintenance

> interchangeable panels allow for easy installation
> low maintenance operation
> electrical connection via waterproof terminal box

Fan Performance Curves

The performance curves for these fans have been established using the inlet test method in the
test chamber according to DIN 24 163, mounting position D (connected at both sides) & AMCA
Standard 210-99, figure 12, installation D.
Sound Levels
The figures given in the performance curves are the A-weighted sound power levels L WA6 at the outlet
side in duct systems, in decibels. The A-weighted sound power level at inlet side L wa5 according to
DIN 45 635, part 38, can be calculated via the relative sound power levels (see below) or is obtained
by the following approximation formula:

LWA5 ≈ LWA6 - 6 dB

The A-weighted sound power level radiated from the casing Lwa2, according to DIN 45 635, part 38,
can be calculated via the relative sound power levels (see below) or is obtained by the following
approximation formula:

LWA2 ≈ LWA6 - 25 dB

It is important to note that reflexion and environmental characteristics as well as resonant frequencies
influence the sound pressure levels in different ways. In order to avoid structure-borne noise transfer
to a connected duct system we recommend the use of flexible connections.

The A-weighted octave sound power level is important for the choice of suitable sound attenuators.
It is obtained as follows:

LWAokt = LWA6 + LWArel

The relative A-weighted octave sound power level LWArel at octave medium frequency can be taken
from the respective table. These levels have been established at 0.5 x Vmax:
