choked with plastic waste and harmful debris. A world where water ecosystems
thrive, and human intervention plays a crucial role in restoring balance.
JM: Our project presents a new solution to this problem—an automatic robot built to
quickly and effectively clean water bodies by removing harmful trash.
Jo Ann: Presently, human activities are exerting pressure on oceans, rivers, and
Inland waters, diminishing their quality. Substantial evidence, such as tons of trash in
Rivers and creeks resembling dumpsites, underscores the decline in water quality.
This
Deterioration adversely affects both animals and humans, leading to the emergence
of
New diseases.
Reg: This study aims to develop a water debris cleaning machine, a machine that
Can collect floating waste – such as plastics, cans, etc.; efficiently and effectively.
Specifically, this study aims to
Reg: This study advocates a new approach in lessening wastewater. This study
benefits the environment by mitigating water debris
Pollution by removing the trash on the surface of the water, therefore, maintaining
the
Cleanliness of various bodies of water
Jo Ann: The robot is built using a 1x2 meter sun board for the base, a 19-inch non-
slip mat for the conveyor, and an Arduino Uno with a Bluetooth module and motor
driver for control. It has 3 DC motors powered by 16 AA batteries and uses an 8x8
inch stainless steel net to store wastewater.
Reg: Additional materials include metal tubes, a sintra board, propellers, a solar
panel, and adhesives. The Arduino is programmed to control the robot's movement
via a remote-control app.
JM: The following are the directions that the robot can take –
Forward, backward, left, and right. It is designed to float on the water’s surface, using
Light materials for its structure making it buoyant.
Jo Ann: The Hygeia Aquabot V8 is a robot designed for cleaning water debris. The
Robot has undergone five trials and was proven successful. The robotic structure
Sustained its form and remained buoyant when being tested on water. As for the
Arduino Uno reception test, it successfully received the commands from the
Controller, making the motors functional. The motors performed well enough,
Allowing the robot to move on the water’s surface.
