Introduction
In the fast-paced world of emerging technologies, companies often experience volatility in
their stock prices due to innovation, competition, and changes in market dynamics. As
an aspiring equity researcher, your task is to evaluate the investment potential of Ola
Electric Mobility Limited, ticker symbol OLAELEC a mid-sized company in the
Transportation and EV Sector.

Objective
Your goal is to assess whether OLA is a good investment based on its financial perfor-
mance, industry position, and stock price behavior. You will determine whether the stock
is a buy, hold, or sell based on your findings.

Key Tasks
1. Industry and Competitive Analysis
• Analyze the trends in the emerging technology sector, including opportunities and
risks.

• Identify major competitors and evaluate how the company is positioned in the
market.

2. Basic Financial Analysis


• Review the company’s income statement and balance sheet to assess its financial
health.

• Calculate key financial ratios such as:

– Profitability Ratios (e.g., Net Profit Margin, Return on Equity)


– Liquidity Ratios (e.g., Current Ratio)
– Efficiency Ratios (e.g., Asset Turnover)

• Use these ratios to assess the company’s strengths and weaknesses in terms of
profitability, liquidity, and efficiency.

3. Stock Price and Market Analysis
• Analyze the stock price movement of the company over the last year.
• Compare the company’s stock performance with its key competitors and the overall
sector index.
• Investigate key news or events that may have impacted the stock price.

Investment Recommendation
Based on your analysis of the company’s financials, market positioning, and stock price
trends, make a recommendation on whether investors should buy, hold, or sell the stock.
Provide a well-reasoned argument to support your recommendation. Highlight potential
risks that could affect the stock’s future performance.

Deliverables
Participants are required to submit a presentation consisting of a maximum of 8 slides,
excluding the title and thank you slides. The presentation should include:

1. Executive Summary
2. Industry and Company Overview
3. Financial Analysis
4. Stock Price and Market Analysis
5. Investment Recommendation
6. Risk Analysis

The presentation should effectively summarize key findings and provide a well-supported
recommendation.

Judging Criteria
Participants will be evaluated on:

1. Understanding of Financial Metrics: How well you analyze and interpret fi-
nancial ratios.
2. Depth of Industry and Market Analysis: How thoroughly you assess the
company’s position in its sector and its stock price trends.
3. Clarity and Conviction of Recommendation: The strength of your argument
for a buy, hold, or sell recommendation.
4. Presentation Skills: The clarity and effectiveness of your communication in the
presentation.
