I. SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

November 4, 2024 Registration opens. Start of submission of master-list and


documents for all Team/ Participants. Please email your master-list:

Poomsae competition
10:30-10:50 awarding of poomsae medalist

6:00-7:00pm Awarding ceremony

IMPORTANT:
1. All entries must be endorsed by the Head coach
2. Players who do not meet their submitted weight or height shall be disqualified.
3. Strictly no new applications will be accepted on competition day.
4. No refund of donation due to defaults or no show.

II. QUALIFICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION


1. The TAEKWONDO Group must be a member of the Church ministry to join the
competition.
2. All contestants must be at least 3 months in the Taekwondo program
3. Age requirements:
a. Senior Division: 18 years old and above
b. Junior Division: 14 years old and above
c. Grade School : 13 years old and below

III. REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS


1. Only Official Competition Forms provided in the ground rules will be accepted.
2. All contestants must submit a duly accomplished Waiver Form.
3. Competition Registration Fee for poomsae – P300
4. Competition Registration Fee for Kyorugi – P300

A. SENIOR DIVISION

1. Fin 54 kg. and below 46 kg. and below

VI. METHOD OF COMPETITION


Kyorugi
1. The competition shall be individual, single elimination.
2. Matches in the junior and senior divisions shall be 2 rounds of 1:30 minutes per round
(running time) with 30 seconds interval between rounds.
3. Matches in the grade school divisions shall be 2 rounds of 1.15 minute per round with
30 seconds interval between rounds.
4. Final matches in the senior divisions shall be 2 rounds of 1:30 minutes per round
(running time) with 30 seconds interval between rounds.
5. In case more than one player of a chapter is in the same category, these players will
Not meet in the first match unless a “bye” is drawn by one player.
6. In case there are less than 2 participants in a category, this category may be merged
with adjacent categories.

7. In the best of three (3) system, the duration of the contest shall be three rounds of two
minutes each with a one-
minute rest period between rounds. However, a 4th round of one minute will not be
conducted as the Golden round. In case of a tie score for corresponding round, the
round winner shall be decided by the Article 15.

POOMSAE COMPETITION GUIDELINES
Poomsae
I. EVENT

 RECOGNIZED POOMSAE is a set sequence of movements that consists of the various fundamental
Taekwondo stances, blocks, punches, strikes, and kicks logically arranged in meaningful order in
response to attacks from multiple imaginary assailants.

 Individual Poomsae highlights the accuracy and presentation in executing the different forms for the
different belt levels in Taekwondo.

 Pair Poomsae shows the aspects of Recognized Poomsae performed synchronously by a pair of
competitors.

II. COMPETITION MECHANICS

 Individual Poomsae The competitor’s division will follow their respective Year of Birth (See Annex).

 There will be Male and Female Categories.

 Competitors will perform the required recognized poomsae according to their Age Division and Belt
Level as stated below. Wrong Poomsae will receive the lowest score.

III. COMPETITION UNIFORM

 Competitors must wear the Official PTA Poomsae Uniforms.


 Jewelries and footwear are not allowed.

IV. SCORING SYSTEM FOR POOMSAE

Accuracy (4.0) Accuracy in Basic Movements

Accuracy in Individual Movement of the Poomsae Balance

Presentation (6.0) Speed and Power – 2.0

Control of Power, Speed and Rhythm, Synchronization – 2.0

Expression of Energy – 2.0

V. COMPETITION METHOD

 All players will perform.


 The PTA National Poomsae Referees will judge each performance.
 The Top 3 Players for each category shall be selected and awarded based on their points and rankings.

VII. SCORING SYSTEM FOR KYORUGI


1. The following scoring system shall be observed:
a. Body kick - 2 point
b. Turning kick to the body - 4 points
c. Head kick - 3 points
d. Turning kick to the head - 5 points

e. Clear punching to the chest - 1 point
f. Gamgeum point – 1 point
2. Best of Three (3). Each round 5 gamgeum and 12 points gap.

VIII. PROTESTS
1. Protests regarding match results shall be made in writing using the Protest Form. A
protest fee of Php 1,000.00 is required.
2. The protest shall be submitted to the competition arbitration committee (TD or Referee
Chairman) not later than 30 minutes after the match in question.
3. If the Arbitration Committee decides in favor of the protesting party, the protest fee
shall be refunded.
4. A written protest and protest fee shall not be required in the following cases and shall
be resolved with the Tournament Manager:
 questions about a player’s affiliation or good standing with the Group; 
questions about a player’s qualifications (age, height or weight)

IX. AWARDS
Medals shall be awarded to the winners of each category
First Place : Gold medal
Second Place : Silver medal
Third Place : Bronze medal

X. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. The TAEKWONDO Competition Codes of Conduct shall be strictly enforced.
2. For all other matters not provided for in these ground rules, the WTF Competition
Rules and Interpretation’s latest revision shall apply.
3. Uniforms and Equipment: All contestants shall use only the recognized Taekwondo
competition uniform (dobok) and equipment of the Taekwondo. All contestants shall
provide their own competition equipment (arm & shin guards, groin guard, hand gloves,
transparent or white mouth guard).
4. Coaches’ Attire: Coaches are required to wear collared shirt and coach’s vest. No
slippers or sandals, caps, sleeveless shirts will be allowed.
5. Referees: Only Assigned by the TM and Master Lim Seung Hun are allowed to
officiate. shall serve during the competition. They shall serve full-time.

6. Entries: wrong category entries are ground for players disqualification.

INSTRUCTION

3. Contestants agree to be bound by the competition rules and regulations.

Penalties shall be imposed for the violation of the rules and conduct of the Trinity
Taekwondo Mission Association.

CERTIFICATION WAIVER

Waive and release any and all rights and claims for damage against the
Competition officials, their respective agents, or any facility of this
Competition, from any and all injuries which may be sustained during this
Competition.
