Example :-
Here's an example to illustrate these points:
Imagine you're calculating the cost of buying
apples. Let:
Example :-
Examples:
In the term 3x, the coefficient is 3. It tells you
there are 3 "x"s in this term.
In the term -2y^2, the coefficient is -2. It
multiplies the variable y which is squared
(y^2).
A constant term (a number by itself) can be
thought of as having a coefficient of 1 (even
though it's not explicitly written). For
example, in 5 + x, the coefficient of the
constant term 5 is understood to be 1.
Equation in one variable
One Variable: The equation involves only one unknown quantity. This
unknown quantity is represented by a variable.
Equality: The equation shows that two expressions are equal. These
expressions can involve numbers, constants, and mathematical
operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.).
Examples:
2x + 5 = 11 (Here, x is the unknown variable)
3y - 7 = 0 (Here, y is the unknown variable)
a^2 - 4 = 0 (Here, a is the unknown variable, though the equation is
written with an exponent)

Question 9. The difference between the two whole numbers is 66. The
ratio of the two numbers is 2: 5. The two numbers are:
60 and 6
100 and 33
110 and 44
99 and 33
Explanation: Let the two numbers be 2x and 5x since they are in the ratio of 2:5.
The difference between 5x and 2x = 66
5x – 2x = 66
3x = 66
x = 22
Hence, 2x = 2(22) = 44 and 5x = 5(22) = 110.

3x = 66
x = 22
Hence, 2x = 2(22) = 44 and 5x = 5(22) = 110.

Question 10. The solution for 3m = 5m – (8/5) is:
8/5
4/5
5/4
4/3
Explanation: 3m = 5m – (8/5)
8/5 = 5m – 3m
2m = 8/5
m = 8/10 = 4/5
