    THE FIRST SEMESTER’S MATERIAL ENGLISH ORAL TEST - GRADE 8


    SCHOOL YEAR: 2024-2025
    I. Duration: 5-8 minutes/ each student
    II. Subjectives: grade-8 students
    III. Content
    Each student’s speaking skill will be tested through these 3 parts:
    *PART I: INTERVIEW (1-2 mins) (0,5pt)
    Examiners asks students 2 -3 questions about their personal information, school, hobby, etc...
    1. What is your name?
    2. Which class are you in?
    3. Where do you live?
    4. How do you go to school?
    5. What kind of film do you like?
    6. What’s your favourite film?
    7. What’s your favourite festival?
    8. How much time do you on leisure activities every day?
    9. What do you often do in your leisure time?
    10. Which leisure activity do you like best? Why?
    * PART II: SPEAKING SKILL (4-5 mins) (1pt)
    Examiner lets students choose a piece of paper (including a certain topic) and
    prepare in 2 minutes, then students present the topic in 3-4 minutes.
    Topic 1: Talk about life of an ethnic group in Viet Nam you know.
    You should talk about:
    - The name of the ethnic group
    - Where the people of the ethnic group live
    - Which language they use
    - What type of house they live in
    - What they do to make a living
    - What their traditional culture is
    Topic 2: Talk about a normal family event that you take part in.
    You should talk about:
    - What the event is
    - Where and when it happens
    - Who joins with you
    - What you often do at that event
    - Do you like it or not? Why or why not?

    Topic 3: Talk about lifestyle in your country.


    You should talk about:
    - How people greet others
    - Where people buy and sell food
    - Where people have breakfast
    - What people do to maintain their traditional lifestyle?
    *PART III: FURTHER QUESTIONS (1-2 mins) (0.5 point)
    Examiner asks the students 2 further questions to make clear their presentation in part
    II or questions related the topic the students have presented.
