Test Day Procedures:

Day of test:

• Ensure your tes+ng area is cleared off and is free of any unauthorized aids (e.g., charts displaying mathema+cal concepts).

• For the math session, ensure you have a pen or pencil and scratch paper.

• Ensure that all so>ware applica+ons, including Internet browsers, are closed on the student computer.

• You will aCend a Class session with your test proctor to review this guide and receive the Session ID that is required to log in to the test. Write down the
Session ID exactly as the test administrator presents it on the top of this guide.

• Please use the restroom prior to clicking on the secure browser so you do not have to stop during the test.

Please remember to do your own work. Progress monitoring assessments are computer-adap8ve, which means that the ques8ons become easier or more difficult
depending on how you respond. It is in your best interest to do your own work so that your test results reflect your true ability.

Remember these tes5ng rules:

• Do not ask for help in answering any test ques+ons.

• Do not discuss specific test items a>er the test. This includes any type of electronic communica+on, such as tex+ng, emailing, or pos+ng to social media
sites.

• Once complete with this Class session, ensure that all other windows on your computer are closed. All so>ware applica+ons, including Internet browsers,
should be closed before clicking the secure browser to enter the test.

• You may not have a cell phone during tes+ng, nor may you have any other electronic or recording devices. If you have any devices with you right now,
please turn them off and put them in another room un+l the end of the test.

Sign in to Remote Session:

To access the “Please Sign In” page


on the day of the FAST assessment,
double-click on the secure browser
desktop icon as shown in Figure 1.

1. In the First Name field, enter your


first name exactly as it is wriCen on
the test +cket provided.
2. In the Username field, enter your
username exactly as it is wriCen on
the test +cket provided.

3. In the Session ID field, enter the


Session ID exactly as provided in the
Zoom session by your test
administrator.

4. Click Sign In.


Is This You?

Carefully review the informa+on on


the page +tled, “Is This You?” If
correct, click Yes.

If any informa+on on this page is


incorrect, no+fy the test
administrator before clicking No.
Selec5ng Your Test:

You must select the test you are


scheduled for on the page +tled
“Your Tests.”

If you do not see the correct test


listed, no+fy your test administrator
before proceeding.

Wai5ng for Approval:

When the “Wai+ng for Approval”


page displays, please be pa+ent. The
test administrator must approve your
request to enter the remote test
session. This may take a few minutes.
Complete Audio/Video Checks: You
will be asked to complete a series of
audio/video checks.

Camera Check:

In the Camera Check field, once you


click I agree, click the camera

icon to determine if your


camera is enabled. Follow the
direc+ons on the screen.

This allows your test administrator to


observe you during the test.

Microphone Check:

Follow the direc+ons on your screen


to determine if your microphone is
enabled.

This allows you to communicate with


your test administrator if requested.
If your IEP/504 Plan has the
approved accommoda5on of Text-to-
Speech, please follow the direc+ons
on the screen to complete the
addi+onal sound check.

If you do not have an IEP or 504 Plan,


you will not see this screen.
Before You Begin:

Before you click Begin Test Now to


start the remote test session,
click View Test SeJngs to adjust your
test se\ngs and View Help Guide to
review test instruc+ons and help.
Detailed explana+ons of each are
below.
Review Test SePngs:

Click View Test SeJngs.

If your IEP/504 Plan has the approved


accommoda8on of Text-to-Speech or
Masking, this page will show you that
those features are turned “on” for
your test. If your accommoda8ons
allow for large print, please adjust
your print size on this page.

Follow the direc+ons on the screen to


adjust your test se\ngs.
Help Guide:

Click View Help Guide. This page


contains instruc+ons for tes+ng that
may be viewed at any +me during the
test by clicking the ques+on mark

inside the test:

To return to the “Before You Begin”


page, click Back.
Begin Test Now:

To start the remote test session,


click Begin Test Now.

Submit FAST Assessment:

1. When you reach the end of the


test, you will see a pop-up screen
+tled “ACen+on” no+fying you that
you have completed the
test. Click OK.

2. A>er you click OK, click End Test in


the upper-le> corner. Note that this
buCon does not submit your test.

4. Once you click End Test, the


“Congratula+ons, you reached the
end of the test!” page displays,
allowing you to review answers and
submit the test for scoring.

▪ A flag icon ( ) displays for any


items marked for review. A warning

icon ( ) displays for any


unanswered items.

*Op+onal: To review previous


answers, select an item number.
When finished reviewing, click End
Test again.

5. A>er you have finished

reviewing the items, click Submit


Test.

6. A “Warning” pop-up message will


appear. Click Yes on this message.

7. You will then be taken to the “Test


Completed” page. You will see your
name, the test name, and the
comple+on date. Click Log Out. You
will be taken back to the “Please Sign
In” screen.

You can now close the secure


browser by clicking the X in the top
right corner of the screen.
Communica5ng with the Test Administrator

The instruc8ons below demonstrate how to communicate with your test administrator during the test.
Raise Hand Feature:

To raise your hand, click on the icon


of your live camera feed (your
picture) in the boCom right corner of
your screen.

Click the raise hand icon on the Video


pop-up window.

Your test administrator will be alerted


that you need help and will either
start a chat message or video
conference with you.

To lower your hand, click the lower


hand icon.
Chat Message:

To send a chat message to your test


administrator, click on the icon of
your live camera feed (your picture)
in the boCom right corner of your
screen.

The Video pop-up window opens.

1. Click .

2. In the Type a new message field,


enter the message.

3. Click the .

Your test administrator can respond


by sending you a chat message.

Note that this message is seen only


by the test administrator and no
other students in the session.
Broadcast Message:

Test administrators use this feature to


communicate with all students at
once. The message will display on
your screen while you are taking the
test.

You can respond to these messages


by typing your message in the “Type
a new message” box and then

click .
Your Test Administrator Can Request
a One-to-One Video Conference:

In a video conference, you will see a


split screen of you and your test
administrator in a live video feed.
How Your Test Administrator Can
View Your Screen:

Test administrators can request to


view your screen; however, you must
give permission.

To grant your test administrator


permission, click the I
agree checkbox in the pop-up
window and then click Allow.

If there is a red doVed line around


your screen, your test administrator
is viewing your screen.
