    -Gate To Sovngarde-

    Are you crashing at launch without a message?

    1) First step to troubleshooting will be closing Vortex and reopening it again. Does it
    warn you about missing masters?
    a) If yes, then you’ve got a faulty installation. You can try to manually install the
    mods that Vortex says you’re missing, or you can do a full reinstall (Don’t
    worry, it will be faster since you have it all downloaded anyway).
    b) If it doesn’t give you any warnings, then keep reading:

    Possible explanation 1)
    ○ YOU INSTALLED THE OPTIONAL FILES WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE
    ANNIVERSARY EDITION UPGRADE
    ■ The collection asks you if you want the optional files or not at the end
    of the installation. If you do NOT own Anniversary Edition Upgrade
    (which is a separate purchase from Bethesda), then you CANNOT
    HAVE THE OPTIONAL FILES INSTALLED.
    ● How to solve: Search for “Anniversary Edition upgrade” in the
    collections -> mods tab in Vortex, click on one, press Ctrl + A,
    Select “Remove”.

    Possible explanation 2)
    ○ YOU FORGOT TO INSTALL THE ANNIVERSARY PLUGINS OR FOR SOME
    REASON VORTEX IS NOT RECOGNIZING THAT YOU INSTALLED THEM.
    ■ The Anniversary Edition plugins don’t get downloaded via Steam, but
    by launching Skyrim and downloading them manually. I know, it's
    annoying. If you forgot this step, the game will crash at launch. Even if
    you did download them, it might be a good idea to do this step
    anyway, just in case:
    ● Click on “PURGE MODS”. No panic, no mods are being deleted
    here. Once Vortex has finished doing it’s thing, launch the
    default Skyrim exe (NOT SKSE). Once in the game’s menu,
    open creation club or whatever it’s called these days and tell it
    to download the plugins you own. Let it finish.
    ● Once it’s finished, exit the game and click on DEPLOY MODS.
    Launch the game via SKSE.
    Launching the game gives me an error about a DLL plugin failing to
    load?

    You most likely don’t have the latest Microsoft Visual C++. You can download it and install it
    here. This should fix this in 90% of the cases.

    If you’re still having issues, it could be due to a faulty installation, not having Skyrim up to
    date on Steam, or by installing GTS on top of other mod collections. Reach out on Discord if
    you need additional help.

    When I launch the game, I get an infinite loading wheel. Help?

    Two likely explanations:


    1) Maybe you forgot to set up SKSE as your default launcher. If you don’t know how to
    launch the game via SKSE, check the collection page description.

    2) Maybe Vortex didn’t register setting SKSE as your favourite launch option. Unset
    SKSE as the launch option, and set it up again. This will fix it in most cases.

    I was not asked about the optional files, but I have the anniversary
    edition upgrade? What now?

    Simple. Go to the “Collections” tab in Vortex. Type the following in the Mod Name search
    bar: “Anniversary Edition Upgrade”. This will show you all the optional files. Click on any
    mod, then press ctrl + A, and then mass enable/install them.
