Assignment: Create a Marketing Research Questionnaire

Objective:
Design a questionnaire of 7-10 questions aligned with marketing research goals. The
questionnaire should reflect an understanding of effective survey design principles and
demonstrate an ability to gather meaningful data while ensuring clarity, coherence, and
respondent comfort. Also try to achieve validity and reliability in it.

Instructions:

1. Define Your Research Objectives:


o Clearly specify the purpose of the questionnaire (e.g., understanding consumer
preferences, product feedback, or market trends).
o Include a brief introductory statement for respondents explaining the purpose of
the survey.
2. Create the Questionnaire:
o General Guidelines:
 Begin with general questions and proceed to specific ones.
 Group related questions together for logical flow.
o Content Requirements:
 Include at least 7 and no more than 10 questions.
 Use a mix of question types, such as:
 Closed-ended questions (e.g., multiple choice, Likert scale).
 Open-ended questions (e.g., "What features do you value most
in this product?").
3. Follow These Key Do’s:
o Use simple and clear language that avoids jargon or technical terms.
o Write single-barrel questions, each focusing on one aspect.
o Use neutral wording to prevent bias.
o Provide balanced response options, including an "Other" category if applicable.
o Ensure confidentiality and anonymity by including a statement reassuring
respondents.
o Keep the questionnaire concise and relevant to your defined objectives.
4. Avoid These Don’ts:
o Avoid overloaded, double-barreled, or negatively framed questions.
o Do not use ambiguous terms or assume knowledge without context.
o Refrain from using leading questions or absolutes like "always" or "never."
o Ensure the visual layout is clean and consistent.
