Activity
Using the different key terms in the chart, construct your own definition about PORTFOLIO.
Ans:
As a Pre-service teacher the only thing I can say is Portfolio means is a form of Alternative Assessment
intended to accumulate evidence to measure growth over time of a student’s or teachers performance. it is a
purposeful collection of student work that exhibits students efforts. Progress and acheivements in one or more
areas each Portfoilio might contain of exemplars of the students work.

Think about:
Do you see a portfolio as a useful assessment oppurtunity? Cite some usesof Portfolio
assessment.
Ans:
Portfolio gives more reliable and dyanamic data about student for teachers, parent and also student himself.
Also using this assessment method in primary schools Provides getting clear information about student and
fulfilling their weakness and helps teachers planning teaching progress.
 Consist of collection of day to day of students.
 The reflect the progress of a student in particualr area of learning.
 Provides oppurtunities to growth through self-reflection.

Application.
How can portfolio assessment ratings be objective?
 Distinguish performance- based assessment with the traditional paer and pencil test.
 Construct tasks that are performance based
 Design a rubrics to assess a perfomance based task.

Assessment
1. Discuss the different kinds of and give examples for each.

Ans:
The working portfolio is a working document. This means that you will be building or adding to the portfolio
every day during your placement to display the tasks and activities that you are completing.
Example:
-teacher directed task
-teacher observation
-classroom activity
- self assessment and self reflection
- relevance learning outcome

A documentary portfolio is a collection of student's work which gives evidence to show how the student can meet
the specified learning outcomes. ... Documentation Portfolio is to highlight the development and improvement of
student learning during a given period of time.
Example:
- collection of the best work of the students assemble for assessment purpose
- showcase the final product of the students work.
- provide evidence that certain instructional goals are realized.
- indicate students progress and weekness from one learning area to another.

An show portfolio is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web.
Such electronic evidence may include input text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks
