“AI as a Boon and Bane”
AI tools has been significantly increased in recent years. The world see the
advancement of AI tools in 21st century particularly in technology, transportation,
finance, marketing, medical, and other sectors. When you look everywhere, you can
see the different AI tools. According to Synthesia, an AI tool “Is a software
application that uses artificial intelligence algorithms to perform specific tasks and
solve problems.” On the other hand, according to Tableau, An AI “Is a branch of
computer science dedicated to creating computers and programs that can replicate
human thinking.” The AI tools helps human lives to live easily such as in work,
education, and in their household. The AI tools have a lot of advantages and at the
same time disadvantages. So, is AI can be a boon or bane?
AI tools have many benefits. According to Kumar (2019) in his published

article at Towards Data Science, there are many benefits that we can make use out
of it. First, AI improves decision-making accuracy and precision by using data that
has already been obtained and algorithms that reduce human error. Second, risky
jobs that would be dangerous for humans to carry out, like space exploration, bomb
disposal, or dealing with natural disasters, can be carried out by AI. Third, AI enables
machines to work continuously, unlike humans, who need breaks and time to
recharge. Fourth, AI automates routine activities, freeing humans to concentrate on
more creative and important work. Fifth, AI-powered digital assistants are employed
in a variety of businesses and websites to assist users and engage in
communication that can be mistaken for that of a human. Sixth, compared to
humans, AI provides quicker decision-making and action execution because robots
are built to examine variables quickly. Seventh, virtual assistants like Siri, Cortana,
and OK Google, which help with tasks like searching, photography, conversation,
and more, are examples of everyday applications that include AI. Last but not the
least, AI fosters creativity and inventions in a variety of fields, assisting people in
solving challenging issues.
As our technology advances because of AI tools, it helps our lives more

convenient than the past decades. In medical field, AI tool is a big help to them
because it can save lives more and improve outcomes. According to Slowik (2021),
AI has many advantages for the medical field. First, by exceeding human clinicians
in terms of speed and accuracy, AI algorithms can improve the effectiveness of the
diagnostic process. This can result in quicker and more precise diagnosis, which
lowers the possibility of mistakes. Additionally, by automating processes like
administrative workflows and diagnosis, AI can assist lower overall costs while
improving patient outcomes. Additionally, AI is essential for prevention care,
assisting in the control and prediction of disease outbreaks as well as speeding up
drug development. AI also makes it simple to share information, makes it possible to
track patient data effectively, and improves precision medicine. By offering
individualized support, assisting patients, and enhancing communication in
healthcare settings, it also enhances patient care.
Business is one of the AI tools users because of its fast and efficient service
that can do repetitive tasks. AI is being used by businesses to streamline internal
processes more and more. According to the Appen State of AI Report for 2021, all
businesses must include AI and ML into their models right away to be successful and
to avoid falling behind. Businesses uses AI tools because of several reasons , by
using AI tools, automation is made possible by it, which boosts productivity, makes
better use of resources, and improves product quality. AI-powered solutions improve
the customer experience by giving quick, individualized responses and easing the
burden on customer support agents. By analyzing data, spotting trends, and offering
forecasts, the technology helps people make wiser decisions. The powers of AI in
research and data analysis speed up processing and accuracy, which is
advantageous for R&D activities. It facilitates the resolution of difficult issues,
automates repetitive operations, lowers error rates, and boosts general corporate
effectiveness. Through breakthroughs like virtual assistants and disease prediction,
AI also improves lifestyle and supports economic growth. By offering precise weather
forecasts and predictive models, AI also helps with disaster management.
In the realm of Education, the AI tool provides students and teachers a good
quality education resources and enhanced their skills. According to Najeeb (2023) in
his published article at LinkedIn, for schools, AI tools offers a variety of advantages.
It first facilitates personalized learning by offering each student individualized
feedback and suggestions that take into account their particular learning styles and
pacing. This promotes diversity and fills knowledge gaps. Additionally, the dynamic
nature of discussions powered by AI keeps students interested, enhancing learning
effectiveness. AI tools encourages active learning and improves understanding
because it provides immediate feedback. Additionally, by helping with duties like
grading, responding to frequently requested questions, and giving resources, Ai tools
can lessen the workload for teachers. This frees up teachers’ time so they may
concentrate on important educational tasks and give individualized attention to
students who need it the most.
Despite its benefits, AI has plenty of disadvantages. According to

human laziness and a decline in critical abilities like analysis and remembering. It
can be costly to implement AI systems since it requires large hardware, software,
and training expenses. The ability of AI to replace manual labor could lead to job loss
when traditional positions are removed. AI systems struggle to think creatively and
outside the box. Additionally, they are unable to recognize emotions, which can be
problematic for sales and marketing. It is difficult to include ethics into AI systems
since they lack human emotions and moral awareness. Though yet in their the early
years, developments like theory of mind and self-awareness may one day help with
this.
All in all, AI tools can be a boon and at the same time a bane, depending on
how they are developed, used, and regulated. By increasing productivity, automating
jobs, and facilitating better decision-making, they can transform entire sectors. AI
has the potential to improve education through individualized learning, save lives
through early disease diagnosis, and boost productivity across a range of industries.
But there are concerns about moral matters like algorithmic prejudice and privacy, as
well as possible job displacement. Risks include over-reliance on AI systems and the
use of AI for evil. Responsible development, ethical frameworks, openness, data
privacy, continual monitoring, and regulation are essential for maximizing the
advantages and minimizing the disadvantages. It need teamwork between
politicians, technologists, and society to navigate the complicated world of AI and
guarante the positive impact of it.
