Doctor: You fainted and was brought here by family. After resting, are you feeling better now? May I discuss a few issues
with you? After measuring your blood pressure, I found it to be quite high. I’ve done some tests. Could you tell me more
about your recent symptoms?
Patient: Recently, I’ve been experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, and frequent dizziness.
Doctor: Could you tell me about your lifestyle habits?
Patient: Normally, I don’t eat regularly, and I’m often stressed from work, so I use alcohol and smoke to relieve it.
Doctor: Do you often eat fast food?
Patient: I usually order food from outside because I’m quite busy.
Doctor: Currently, your heart is showing signs of weakness. You have difficulty breathing, and your legs and abdomen are
swollen due to fluid retention. According to the blood test, your blood sugar level is high.
Patient: I also experience unusual weight gain and often feel tired even when just walking.

Doctor: Your pain hasn’t improved after taking the medication for a week, right, Ms. Hynie?
Patient: That’s correct. It only reduced for about 1-2 days at first, but after that, it didn’t get better and even worsened,
with pain in the upper abdominal area accompanied by bloating and loss of appetite.
Doctor: I’ll arrange for you to undergo a gastroscopy.
Patient: What is a gastroscopy?
Doctor: A gastroscopy is a procedure where a flexible tube with a camera is inserted through the mouth to examine the
esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.
Patient: Does it hurt? What are the steps involved in the procedure?
Doctor: You’ll need to fast before the procedure. The doctor will give you a sedative to ensure you don’t feel any pain.
Then, the endoscope will be inserted through your mouth into your stomach to observe and take samples for testing if
needed. The process usually takes about 5-10 minutes.
Patient: This is my first time having a gastroscopy, so I feel a bit anxious.
Doctor: Don’t worry. The gastroscopy will help me make an accurate diagnosis of your condition. You can now go to the
front desk to register for the procedure.
Patient: Thank you, doctor.

Nurse: Hello, I’m the nurse in charge of drawing blood today. Before we begin, everyone needs to provide complete
information about their medical history, height, weight, and age. Please drink a little sweet tea, and we’ll take a test
sample to see if you’re eligible.
Donor: where will my blood go?
Nurse: Our facility provides blood to local hospitals and surgical centers for transfutions.
Donor: I see. So anyone might receive my blood.
Nurse: Not quite. According to the test report, your blood type is O. You can donate blood to all blood groups, but you
can only receive blood from people with blood type O.
Donor: Really? What happens if someone gets a transfution with the wrong type?
Nurse: That can be very dangerous, or even fatal.
Donor: How to prevent wrong blood type transfusion?
Nurse: We should test our blood type before donating blood.Blood donation also helps people detect blood-related
diseases for timely treatment.
Donor: In my opinion, blood donation is very meaningful because blood is essential. While I am still healthy, I want to
donate blood to help those in need.
Nurse: That’s right, your thoughts are truly admirable.
Donor: Thank you.

Doctor: Today we have an X-ray image from an elderly patient. So, tell me what you see in this X-ray.
Student: Hmm, let me see. Well, there appears to be a crack in the neck of the right femur.
Doctor: That’s right. Can you identify the type of fracture?
Student: It doesn’t look too serious. I’d say that’s a pretty standard stress fracture.
Doctor: Are you sure? Maybe you should take a closer look.
Student: Is that wrong? It’s not comminuted, is it? I don’t see multiple bone fragments.
Doctor: No, it’s not comminuted. You’re right about that.
Student: Then I don’t know. What am I missing?
Doctor: Can you see that the right bone is pushed inward?
Student: Where? Oh, I see that now. Of course!
Doctor: So, in this case, what is the treatment method?
Student: I think this is a fairly serious case. I believe we will perform surgery.
Doctor: That’s right. In these cases, we perform surgery combined with physical therapy.
Student: Yes, I understand.
