A particle moves along a straight line with an acceleration of = 5/(31/3 + 5/2) m/s2,

where s is in meters. Determine the particle’s velocity when = 4 m, if it starts from

rest when = 2 m.

A particle is moving along a straight line with the acceleration a = (12t – 3t1/2) m/s2,
where t is in seconds. Determine the velocity and the position of the particle as a
function of time. When t = 0, v = 0 and s = 15 m.
A train starts from rest at station A and accelerates at 1m/s2 for 30 s. Afterwards it
travels with a constant velocity for 30 min. It then decelerates at 2 m/s2 until it is
brought to rest at station B. Determine the distance between the stations.
A car starts from rest and with constant acceleration achieves a velocity of 15 m/s
when it travels a distance of 200 m. Determine the acceleration of the car and the time
required.
Neglecting the size of the ball, determine the magnitude of the basketball’s initial
velocity, and its magnitude with direction for velocity, when it passes through the
basket.

Ball A is thrown vertically upward from the top of a 30-m-high-building with an

initial velocity of 5 m/s. At the same instant, another ball B is thrown upward from
the ground with an initial velocity of 20 m/s. Determine the height from the ground
and the time when balls A and B pass each other.
The mass of 100g projectile throwers successfully can travel in the horizontal plane
with a speed of v = 240 m/s at the angle of 20°. Calculate the height of this projectile
bullet after 20 seconds, how far will the projectile bullet go (Sx) before hitting the
ground, and the maximum height (h) of the projectile bullet throwers.
The 150kg crate is subjected to the forces. If it is originally at rest, determine the
distance it slides in order to attain a speed of =10 /. The coefficient of kinetic friction
between the crate and the surface is =0.3.
Blocks A and B have a mass of 10 kg and 100 kg mass, respectively. Determine the
distance B travels when it is released from rest to the point where its speed becomes 2
m/s by the applied principle of work and energy.
