This simple to operate, robust and affordable, Multi-

Source light booth for basic visual color assessment
is light in weight and desktop sized.
TRU-VUE 2 is designed for inspection and color
discrimination of Inks, Paints, Plastics, Textiles, Paper,
Colorants and other colored materials.
With its standard 4 light sources of Daylight (D65),
Store Light (CWF or TL84, according to selected
voltage model), Home Light (A) and Ultraviolet,
it meets all the basic visual color evaluation
requirements at an attractive price.

TRU-VUE ® 4/4D Compact, affordable and

feature-rich Light Booth

Equipped with 5 light sources and its compact size,

the TRU-VUE 4 is the ideal solution for accurate visual
color inspection with the flexibility to accommodate
your clients’ lighting environment within a single unit.
The push-button control with auto-sequencing
function allows for hands-free, variable sourcing
color matching. The hour-meter monitors the usage
of the primary light source, ensuring proper re-lamp
schedules and maintaining peak performance.
The five spectrally dissimilar sources of illumination
and the optional, optically neutral diffusion lens provide
an even illumination field throughout the booth, which
is critical for evaluating shade differences.
Next to Daylight (D65), Store Light (CWF or TL84,
according to selected voltage model), Home Light (A)
and Ultraviolet, the TRU-VUE 4 allows fitting an additional fluorescent or Daylight source, to be chosen
from TL83, Horizon, U35, D50 or D75.
With the choice of Munsell N7 or N5 surround, the TRU-VUE 4 provides options to meet different
international requirements.
The TRU-VUE 4 is also available as 4D model, equipped with 4 light sources and allows for
dimming the most critical sources (Daylight, Incandescent and Commercial Fluorescent) from
zero to full brightness. Specifically developed for design-station applications, where actual
samples need to be compared to images on the monitor, the Datacolor TRU-VUE 4D allows to
dim the main sources to correspond to the brightness level of the monitor.

To meet the highest demands of visual color
inspection the DCMB product line of light booth is
available to deliver every option and feature you
would need to evaluate and communicate color with
absolute confidence.
Two standard sizes accommodate (28” and 40”
in width) nearly any sample dimensions and
furthermore, the units can be coupled to for a further
increased width.
The 5 light sources of the DCMB cabinets provide
a complete tool for visual color assessment,
comparison of color variation and determination of
metamerism. The optically neutral prismatic diffuser
ensures even illumination throughout the
viewing area.
Complying with a broad variety of international Standards, incl. ASTM D1729, SAE J361, Tappi 7515,
BS-950 Part 2, AS 1580.6001.1, the DCMB cabinets are the choice for globally operating supply
chains in and color processing industry. The NIST traceable certificate of product conformance gives
any member of the supply chain the confidence needed in visual color inspection.

Commercially available D65 lamps do not often meet the required accuracy and color rendition that
is vital for meeting tight industry standards and visual agreement. To provide a far more accurate
simulation of true daylight, the D65 lamps in the ColorMatcher light booths emit energy in the near
UV of the spectrum (see right illustration) The D65 illumination reaches a color rendering index (CRI)
of 94, combined with a CIE Publication 51 rating of B/C [visible/UV spectrum rating, ranges from A/A
to E/E. This data allows you to trust to see your colors the same way as your business partners do.

Visual Color Inspection

Where commercially available D65 lamps might meet the 0.015 tolerance radius around the specified
aimpoint (CIE1976 chromaticity: u’=0.1979 v’0.4685), theD65 sources in the ColorMatcher light booth
are manufactured to meet a Tolerance of half of the radius of the CIE Standard – for best possible
simulation of D65 with fluorescent 6500K lamps.
