    Behavior Policies

    We have four main rules in our classroom and our school: Be

    Kind, Be Safe, Be Responsible and Be Respectful.

    If a student is not following classroom or school

    expectations, I will conference and re-teach the expectation. If a

    student engages in the same behavior more than two times the

    parent/guardians will be notified. A fourth behavioral incident, of

    the same type, will be an office referral. This is in accordance with

    becoming a P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavioral Interventions and

    Support) school. I believe in my students and that many times a

    reminder is all that’s needed to change a behavior. I believe that all

    of my students have the ability to learn and follow the classroom

    and school expectations!

    We also will be using Class Dojo as a classroom incentive

    program, behavior tracker, and communication platform. More

    information to come on this.


    Homework and Agenda

    Homework is assigned daily, Monday –Thursday. In

    addition, we will give out a homework calendar with tasks or skills

    aligned with our State Common Core standards. These additional

    tasks that your student can choose to do will enhance their

    learning.

    It is a school expectation that the agenda be

    used daily. Students need to be responsible for the

    agenda as it will be traveling daily with them to and

    from school. Students should write down the title of the book

    they are reading at home and how long they read (30 minutes at

    least 5 nights a week is an expectation). In school, we use the

    planner to write brief updates about our day. It is a great way to

    start a conversation with your child about what they did at school

    each day. Homework assignments (HW) will also be tracked in

    their planner.
