 What is the TCE ACE Hackathon?

TCE ACE Hackathon is more than just a competition; it is a platform where India's brightest
young minds converge to shape the nation's future through innovation and creativity. This
event invites students to show their skills and share how you would change the future of
Design Engineering and Consulting by harnessing the power of Technology to address real-
world challenges and drive India’s progress. With TCE ACE Hackathon, participants can
tackle community and business issues for the greater good, making a real impact.

Winning teams and participants will mentorship from TCE and industry leaders, gaining
valuable insights and relevant industry experience. Winners will get the opportunity to win
exciting prizes, secure internships, and explore career opportunities with TCE.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tata Consulting Engineers ‘ACE Hackathon’ 2025 (“Event”) is being organized by Tata
Consulting Engineers Limited (“Organizer” or “TCE”) and these terms and conditions shall
govern the Event.

By registering for the Event, the participants (“Participants”) agree to abide by all the Terms
and Conditions. For participating in the Event, you agree that you have read, understood
and are legally bound by the Terms and Conditions as outlined below and have legal
capacity to enter into the Event. If you do not want to be bound by the Terms and Conditions
or agree to any of the Terms and Conditions, you must not register for the Event.

Organizer reserves the right to change or update these Terms and Conditions, from time to
time entirely at its own discretion and without any prior intimation to the Participants.

Eligibility Criteria & Team Formulation:

• TCE Hackathon is open to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students (Full-

Time) from any discipline in selected Colleges based out of India.
• Participants can register in teams with minimum of 3 members with maximum 5
members.
• As our efforts for to build an inclusive TCE, our recommendation includes at least
one diversity member in your team.
• Participants must be 18 and below 25 years old, hold a valid education permit in
India, and be enrolled in a course at a designated Indian Institution.
• Cross-discipline are allowed.
• Cross-college teams are not allowed.
• All the team members are required to verify and confirm their details to form a team.
• A student can be a part of only one team.

 • Any deviation from the above-mentioned guidelines will result in the immediate
disqualification of the entire team.
• The Participants should not have a criminal conviction or an arrangement or a
contract that prevents the Participants from participating in the Event.
• The Participants should have proof of age, address proof and academic documents
when requested by TCE and must be mandatorily submitted by the Participants to
TCE, as may be required by TCE to confirm the eligibility of the Participants.
• Organizer can refuse a submission or entry for any reason, without notice to the
Participants. Organizer will not accept any submission which Organizer consider to
be incomplete, misleading, late, or inappropriate or in violation with the terms and
conditions.

Winner selection criteria

• Winners and Runners-up of the Event will be decided basis the judgement of the
TCE Panel and Subject Matter Experts (both external and internal).
• The decision upon Winners is final and binding, and no appeals shall be
allowed, and no further communication will be entered into by the Organizer with
the Participants.
Prizes

• Winning Team will receive a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-

• The first runners-up will receive a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-
• The second runners-up will receive a cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-
• Winners, first and second runners-up will receive internships and fast track
(direct entry) to our Young Engineers Development Programme of TCE.
• Selected candidates stand a chance to collaborate with TCE on co-creating a
solution.
• The payment of cash prize shall be subject to deduction of applicable taxes as
per provisions of Indian Tax Laws.
• Participants will be solely responsible for complying with all applicable tax laws
and filing requirements, as may be applicable on prizes awarded.

 Event Conduct and Rules

• Participants agree and undertake to use the TCE recommended link for
submission/entry that are proper and meet the eligibility criteria (as highlighted
above) as set out under these terms and conditions
• Participants agree and undertake that he or she shall not:
o Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal
rights of others.
o Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate,
profane, defamatory contents, statement, etc. either against TCE or any
other persons being part of the Event including but not limited to any post
on any social media platforms, etc.
o Infringe, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or
information.
o Upload files that contain software or other material protected by
intellectual property laws unless he or she owns or controls the rights
thereto or have received all necessary consents.
o Upload or distribute files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other
similar software or programs that may damage the operation of the
Website or another's computer.
o Conduct or forward surveys, contests, pyramid schemes or chain letters.
o Download any file posted by another Participant, or reasonably should
know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
o Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or
proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or
other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
o Violate any code of conduct or other guidelines, which may be applicable
including the TCE guidelines applicable for the Event.
o Violate any applicable laws or regulations for the time being in force in or
outside India; and
o Violate any of the forgoing Terms and Conditions or any other terms and
conditions for the use of the Website contained elsewhere herein.

 Intellectual Property Rights

• Intellectual property rights include all rights to the materials provided by the
Participants within the submission, including but not limited to copyright,
trademarks, service marks, trade names, design rights, patents, know-how, trade
secrets, concepts, inventions and other forms of intellectual or industrial property,
whether registered or unregistered, and all applications for the same (hereinafter,
the “Intellectual Property Rights”).
• Upon providing the submission, the Participants and each member of its team,
grants to the Organizer and its affiliates an unrestricted, worldwide, royalty-free,
exclusive license to the Intellectual Property Rights of the submission and any part
thereof (whether created or developed independently by a Participant or jointly with
others), with the right to sublicense or grant any further consents regarding the use
of such rights (“License”) as follows: publicly display by any means and in any
media; to copy, modify, translate and/or adapt, archive and distribute for publicity
purposes without any further notice or remuneration to the Participant.
• Each Participant hereby agrees to transfer and assign the entirety of Intellectual
Property Rights in the submission to the Organizer and its affiliates (“Assignment”)
irrespective of whether the submission has been declared as winners or not, and
regardless of the amount of the Prize awarded. The rights transferred are all those
necessary to adapt, develop, construct, modify, and in any and all ways use the
contents described in the Submission. The Organizer and its affiliates shall be
entitled to further transfer and assign, license or consent for any use of any and all
Intellectual Property Rights at its own discretion.
• The Assignment is irrevocably binding upon all the Participants irrespective of
whether the submissions are selected as a Winners or not and/or the Organizer
receives an acceptance statement signed by the Participants or not.
• The Participants agree to assign all right title and interest in and to any submissions
to Organizer or its designee, and to execute promptly all necessary documents as
may be required and take all such other action as may be reasonably requested by
Organizer.
• The Assignment is unconditional. The Participants acknowledge that, once the
Assignment becomes binding, the Participants shall retain no further Intellectual
Property Rights in the submission.
• By uploading the Submission on the Platform, the Participants warrant and
represent that:
o the submission is an original work and has not been copied wholly or
substantially from any other work or material or any other source.
o the exploitation of the rights licensed to Organizer will not infringe the rights
of any third parties;
o the Participants shall use its best attention and efforts to duly check before
uploading the submission whether the submission do not infringe the rights
of any third parties.
• The Participants understand and acknowledge that the cost incurred by the
Organizer in organizing the Event is sufficient and appropriate remuneration for the
Intellectual Property Rights assigned by the Participants to the Organizer and that

 Participants shall not be eligible for any additional compensation or payment
whatsoever from the Organizer.
• The Organizer reserve the right to undertake promotional activities and/or publicity
arrangements through the Platform or any other channel, as well as to discontinue
any of its activities and/or arrangements at any time without any notice to the
Participants.
• The Organizer at its sole discretion may cancel the Event anytime without any
notice to the Participants and without any liability arising out of the same.
Indemnity

• Participants agree and undertake to indemnify and keep indemnified and harmless
the Organizer from any claims arising out of the breach of infringement of
Intellectual Property Rights of any third party.

Dispute Resolution & Arbitration:

• Any disputes or differences arising between the parties shall be resolved amicably
within 30 days, failing which, same shall be referred to a Sole Arbitrator to be
appointed by TCE.
• The Arbitration will be conducted in English language in accordance with Arbitration
and Conciliation Act, 1996 & Rules thereunder. The seat and venue of arbitration
shall be Mumbai and the cost of arbitration will be borne equally by the parties.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction:

• These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance

with laws of India and Courts situated in Mumbai alone will have exclusive
jurisdiction over any matter arising under and out of these Terms and Conditions.

 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• Is this competition open to students from all universities and courses?

This competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate Engineering students (full-
time) from any discipline in select colleges based out of India.

• Is there a registration fee for participating in this competition?

There is no participation fee associated with this competition and it is free for everyone.

• Can I participate individually if I don't have a team?

No, individual participation is not allowed.

• Can international students participate or is it limited to a specific region?

Yes, international students with a valid education permit in India and enrolled in selected
Indian institution can participate.

• Is there an age limit to participate in this competition?

Yes, participants must be between 18 and 25 years old.

• Can I change my team members after registering for this competition?

You will not be able to update your team registrations after registrations are closed.

• How can I delete my registration/entry from this opportunity?

• Is there any registration deadline?

Timelines and Deadlines will be communicated to you through our TCE campus team,

• Who is eligible to be a team leader?

There are no eligibility criteria for a participant to be a team leader, you can nominate
amongst your team.

• I am already a part of Team A, can I join Team B

No candidate can be part of two teams at the same time.

• What are the criteria of Team Formation?

• All participants must be from the same college; inter-college teams are not
permitted.

 • Members from different branches or disciplines within the same institution may
form a team.
• Each team must consist of minimum 3 member and maximum 5 members,
including the team leader, and as a recommendation include at least one
diversity member.

• I am pursuing distance/part-time and currently engaged as a working

professional. Can I participate?
No, the students should be pursuing and enrolled in a full-time regular course

• What is the prize money of the winning team?

The top three teams will receive prize money as follows: Winner - INR 50,000, 1st Runner-
Up - INR 25,000, and 2nd Runner-Up - INR 15,000.

Furthermore, the winners will be given internships at TCE based on the educational
qualification as per company norms.

• When can I submit the idea against the problem statement?

Teams can submit their ideas only after SPOC registration and nomination for hackathon
are open. Ideally, Campus SPOC is responsible nominate the teams through idea
submission on TCE portal.

• How can I contribute in the best possible way?

You are requested to consider the impact on your team and organizers, and back out only
if absolutely necessary in case of exigencies.

• Will this hackathon be organized digitally or in-person mode?

First stage i.e. idea screening is online. Finale would be conducted in an offline mode in
TCE office in Mumbai. Shortlisted teams will be required to travel to Mumbai as
communicated to them, cost of travel and accommodation will be reimbursed by TCE as
per TCE Travel Policy.
