Type of Curriculum
Type of Curriculum
Based on my observation the curricula that are present in the classroom are the seven
curricula either consist of things in textbooks, reading materials, lesson plan and ideas in
the curriculum guide.
The curricula that are present in the classroom from my interview are recommended
curriculum, written curriculum, taught curriculum, supported curriculum, assessed
curriculum, learned curriculum, and hidden curriculum.
3. How do I describe what I have observed? Interviewed?
If I would described what I observed. I would say that they have well-founded and well-
planned curriculum. Even though we have new-normal learning, I can assure that the
teacher were able to successfully apply these seven curriculums in the learning of the
students.
Based on my observation all of the seven curriculums were present. This includes
recommended curriculum, written curriculum, taught curriculum, supported curriculum,
assessed curriculum, learned curriculum, and hidden curriculum.
a. Does the sabre-tooth curriculum still exist at present? Give an example of your
evidence.
In my personal opinion, the sabre-tooth curriculum still exist up until today for the
reason that our educational system teaches student on how to do particular tasks on
their own and we let them do things which can help them exercise their minds as well as
their skills.
The curriculum that was being describe on the article actually conveys a message in a
form of premise ‘’ we should teach them on how to catch a fish using hands rather than
using a net.’’ In which it implies that we teachers/future teachers, we must teach the
young on how to manipulate their cognition, we should let them think and we should let
them do things on their own rather than spoiling them with all their needs and covets.
c. What does the author mean, when he said ‘’ a curriculum should be timeless?’’
explain.
it simply means that our education system should fit with the needs of the time and
serve a purpose. Ultimately, these curricular decisions should be made by our society,
rather than by the individual teachers, school buildings, or districts.

Activity B
1. It is necessary for teachers to learn about school curriculum? Why? Write your answer
on the space provided.
It is necessary for the teachers to learn about the school curriculum because the
teachers are the one who plan, design, teach, implement and evaluate the school
curriculum. Because if the teachers lacks knowledge about the school curriculum,
he/she will not know what to teach and how to teach it well. For the reason that, the
curriculum acts as the roadmap for the teachers and the students to follow on the path
to academic success. The teacher are obliged to have knowledge about the school
curriculum because it is the curriculum who informs the teachers as to what knowledge
and skills that need to be taught to the students to ensure that they are prepared for
the future. And help the teachers to ensure that the students are on the right track to
reaching their goals and honoured desired skills. I conclude that, the teacher have
significant role in the curriculum planning, designing and implementing. So, it is really
necessary for the teacher to have enough knowledge and to learn about school
curriculum.
