1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.


2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with sub- parts of the
values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3 marks and
2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in the 2marks
questions of Section E

Section A consists of 20 questions of 1 mark each.

Section C consists of 6 questions of 3 marks each
26 Three sets of English, Hindi and Mathematics books have to be stacked in such a way that all
the books are stored topic wise and the height of each stack is the same. The number of

English books is 96, the number of Hindi books is 240 and the number of Mathematics
books is 336. Assuming that the books are of the same thickness, determine the number of
stacks of English, Hindi and Mathematics books.

night fare for a taxi is Rs 9 for the first half kilometre and Rs 15 per kilometre thereafter,

kilometre thereafter.

i. Express the night fare structure for taxis and auto rickshaws in the form of linear 3
equations. Use x as the fare (in Rs) and y as the distance travelled (in km).

ii. ii) At what distance is the night fare for a taxi and an auto rickshaw equal?

32 In a fight of 600 km, an aircraft was slowed down due to bad weather. Its average speed for the
trip was reduced by 200 km/hr and the time of flight increased by 30 minutes. Find the duration of 5
flight.

OR

If two pipes function simultaneously, a tank is filled in 12 hours. One pipe fills the tank 10 hours
faster than the other. How many hours does the faster pipe alone take to fill the tank?

33 (a) State and prove Basic Proportionality theorem.

(b) In the given figure, DE || AC and DC || AP. Prove that =

34 A wooden souvenir is made by scooping out a hemisphere from each end of a solid cylinder. If
the height of the cylinder is 10 cm and its base is of radius 3.5 cm then find the total cost of

polishing the souvenir at the rate of Rs. 10 per cm2.

OR
A tent is in the shape of a cylinder surmounted by a conical top. If the height and diameter of the
cylindrical part are 2.1 m and 4 m respectively, and the slant height of the top is 2.8 m, find the
area of the canvas used for making the tent. Also, find the cost of the canvas of the tent at the rate
of Rs 500 per m2.

This section comprises 3 case study based questions of 4 marks each.
36 A school auditorium has to be constructed with a capacity of 2000 people. The chairs in the
auditorium are arranged in a concave shape facing towards the stage in such a way that each
succeeding row has 5 seats more than the previous one.

(i) The first row has 15 seats, then how many seats will be there in 12th row? 1
(ii) If there are 15 rows in the auditorium, then how many seats will be there in
the middle row? 1

(iii) If total 1875 guests were there in the auditorium for a particular event, then
how many rows will be needed to make all of them sit?
OR 2
If total 1250 guests were there in the auditorium for a particular event, then
how many rows will be left blank out of total 30 rows?
37. The Surya Kiran is an aerobatics demonstration team of the Indian Air Force, and was
formed in 1996. In Surya Kiran demonstrations, fighter pilots perform aerobatic maneuvers
in groups of 3, to entertain an audience. Anuja and Sarthak are watching planes A, B and C
at a Surya Kiran demonstration in Jaipur. Anuja is watching the demonstration from the
Hawa Mahal, while Sarthak is at the City Palace. Both of them are 1365 m apart, as shown
in the figure below.

i) When the angle of elevation of plane B from Anuja's eyes is 30 , the plane's
altitude is 675m above ground. What is its horizontal distance from where Anuja
is standing? 1

ii) When the planes are in landing formation, the pilot from plane B can see plane A
at an angle of elevation of 30°. Plane B is 740 m above ground level, and the
horizontal distance between plane A and plane B is 50√3 m. Draw a diagram to 1
represent the above information.

iii) The angle of elevation of plane C from Sarthak's eyes is 60°, while its angle of

elevation from Anuja's eyes is 45°. What is the plane's horizontal distance from

Sarthak? Draw the rough figure and show your steps.

OR

During a maneuver, the pilot from plane A can see Anuja at an angle of
depression of 60°, and Sarthak at an angle of depression of 30 degrees. What is

the altitude of the plane? Draw the figure and show your steps .

The students of Class X of a secondary school have been allotted a rectangular plot of land
for their gardening activity. Saplings are being planted on the boundary at a distance of 1 m
from each other. There is a triangular grassy lawn in the plot as shown in the figure. The
students are to row seeds of the flowering plant on the remaining area of the plot.
(i) If a tree is to be planted exactly in the middle of the triangle PQR ie. at the

centroid of ∆PQR to give shed to the people sitting in the lawn, then find the
coordinates of the point where the tree should be planted.

(ii) What type of triangle is formed by the grassy lawn?

(iii) Find the area of the plot in which the students have to row the seeds.

If a special flowering plant has to be planted at a point which divides the line
joining the points C and Q in the ratio 2:3, then find the coordinates of the point
where this plant will be planted.
