CHI-87-2019. State Vs. Manpreet kaur and anr,

Present: Addl. Public Prosecutor for the State.


Accused Manpreet Kaur and Harpreet Singh on bail with
counsel Sh. Gurpreetinder Singh, Advocate.

PW-1 ASI Manmohan Singh is present and cross examined


today. The complainant Gurnam Singh has died whereas the eye witness
namely Daljit Singh has not appeared today. Naib Court of this Court has
informed that cross case against said Daljit Singh is also pending for today,
in which PO proceedings have been initiated against him. Perusal of the file
shows that the notice to him has been issued number of times but after his
conducting his examination in chief, he did not turn up to face his cross-
examination. So, keeping in view the above said fact and keeping in view
the opportunities already granted to the prosecution for concluding its
evidence, the evidence of the prosecution is closed by Order.

Statement of the accused under Section 313 Cr.PC have been


recorded to which they did not opt to lead any evidence in their defence.

Arguments heard. Vide my separate detailed Judgment of even


date the accused persons namely Manpreet Kaur and Harpreet Singh stand
acquitted from the charges levelled against them. Bail bonds/surety bonds
furnished by accused are ordered to be discharged. Case property, if any, be
disposed of as per rules after the expiry of period of appeal or revision. File
be consigned to the record-room.
