Project: AI/ML Web Application Firewall

project Description:
AI web application firewall uses machine learning to gain insights into normal traffic behavior and
detect malicious web requests to help secure web applications. Its model is constantly learning and
adapting to the changing behavior of the web app and threats.
key contributions:
• Handled data collection and pre-processing data.
• Created the architecture for handling the flow of incoming requests from clients to the WAF
and WAF server
• Conducted EDA and selected models, including Distil-BERT and Random Forest, using for
AWS distributed computing.
• After developing the AI/ML WAF integrated into the ADC appliance (load balancer)
• Build the hybrid WAF (signature WAF and AI/ML WAF)

• Developed a backend server for WAF using HAProxy with Java and Python

• Built a backend WAF analytics dashboard integrated within IPAM

Project: DNS anomaly detection
project Description:

DNS anomaly detection involves monitoring DNS traffic for abnormal behavior, such as unusual
spikes in DNS volume, queries for known malicious domains, and queries for internal domain names
from external sources, which may indicate security threats or network problems. If an anomaly is
detected, appropriate actions, such as blocking malicious domains or rate-limiting abnormal DNS
traffic, can be taken to mitigate the threat.

key contributions:
• Processed and analyzed 200 million data points.
• Worked on the Exploratory Data Analysis part.
• Conducted EDA and tested multiple ML models (Random Forest, KNN, Decision Tree,
XGBoost) and a CNN-LSTM model (Atlantis).
• Trained models across multiple environments (Linux, Windows, AWS) and contributed to
frontend development for the UI

Project: Detecting DNS over HTTPS based data exfiltration

project Description:
To detect potential data exfiltration using DNS over HTTPS (DoH), monitoring of DoH traffic within a
network is necessary, analyzing traffic patterns for anomalies such as large volume of DoH
queries/responses, queries for random domain names, and use of DNS TXT records. Additionally,
blocking identified malicious DoH traffic and raising alerts on potential DoH data exfiltration can help
prevent and mitigate attacks.
key contributions:
• Worked on pre-processing data (data contains 10 million data points)
• Worked on the Exploratory Data Analysis part.

• Worked on multiple machine learning models like Random Forest and logistic regression.
• Worked on imbalance techniques.
• Worked on the frontend part of UI
Project: Alert Generation Matrix
Project Description:
This project aims to generate an alert when software used in the company is outdated. It will check
the latest version of the software and compare it with the version currently in use, then generate a
notification to inform the relevant parties. The alert will be sent via email.
• Worked on data collection that piece of software is used in our environment.
• web scraping is done on each piece of software website
• Develop the code in Python and generate the mail every week automatically.

Project: HCM Excavator Activity Classification

Project Description:
The main objective of this project HCM Excavator activity classification is to classify the excavator
activity of each frame of the video provided by the HCM. Below are the excavator actions provided
as part of the HCM input data. Excavators’ actions are ‘Digging’, ‘Rotation’, ‘Dumping’, ‘Waiting’,
and ‘Transferring’. As part of the objective, we have created the model for the work classification
of mining Excavators. The labels based on appropriate work classification will be provided by the
client. The video data for work classification will be from a test excavator working at a test facility
as well as from actual mining sites.

• Worked on pre-processing of video data by extracting the frames.

• Also worked on YOLO bounding box approach for object detection.
• Worked on multiple deep learning models like CNN, CNN-LSTM, LRCN and trained the
models with image data under multiple conditions.
• Worked on predictions part for testing unseen videos also.
