1. All fields marked with a red star (*) in the online application are mandatory to fill.
2. For online registration, applicants should have the following scanned images (in
JPEG/GIF format) ready for uploading in the online application at the specified
location.
a) A recent passport-size photograph (file size - less than 30KB).
b) Community certificate (file size- less than 100 KB) not required for the OC
category.
c) SSLC and HSC mark statements (each file size - less than 100KB).
d) UG consolidated mark statements (or) a degree certificate (file size - less than
100KB).
e) PG consolidated mark statements (or) a degree certificate (file size - less than
100KB.
f) Signature (file size-less than 30KB).
g) Disability certificate, if applicable (file size-less than 100KB).
h) If the mark statement has not been received in time, all copies of the results
must be signed by the Head of the Department and then uploaded.
3. Please ensure the readability of all scanned images before uploading. After
uploading the images in the online application, kindly re-check them for
readability.
4. The applicant's name should be in capital letters with the initial at the end. No full
stop or comma is allowed. Only spaces shall be given. For example: NAME A B.
5. A valid email ID, mobile number, and Aadhaar (or) Voter ID number are to be
entered in the relevant columns. Ensure that your email ID and mobile number are
active. Bharathidasan University will send the registered application number and
login details to your email ID only. Please check your email for a reply from the
University.
6. If you are a physically challenged candidate, please upload the relevant certificate
online.
7. Choose the appropriate Faculty and Subject studied in your PG Degree from the
Prospectus page. The corresponding question paper will be provided based on your
PG subject. The main subject knowledge will be tested if your specialization falls
under grouped subject titles. Please note that once a choice is made, it cannot be
altered later.
8. Ongoing final year PG students may also apply with their available PG marks sheets,
but the e-certificate will be issued only after providing a Cumulative Mark
Statement or Degree with the minimum eligible percentage of marks.
9. After submitting the application, candidates should click on the 'Already Registered'
button to login using the details sent to their registered email. Proceed to make the
online payment (Rs.1,416/- for SC/ST students, others Rs.2,124/- including 18%
GST) before the last date. Please avoid using DEBIT/ATM cards and utilize only
Netbanking or Credit card for online payment. NRI/Foreign candidates are required
to pay the INR amount of Rs.17,700/- (including 18% GST). Applications will not be
considered without payment. Safeguard the login details for future use in
downloading your e-Hall ticket, result, and e-Certificate.
10. No hardcopy, including the copies of certificates already attached in the online
application, need to be sent to the office.
11. Each candidate is allowed to register only one application, and re-submission is not
permitted. In case of any technical issues, please contact the University (Research
Section) for assistance.
12. If the amount is debited from your account without any receipt in a successful
or failed transaction, please wait for 2-3 working days for the issue to be
resolved automatically. If the issue is not resolved within the stipulated time,
kindly contact the Research Section via email (bduphdentrance@gmail.com)
with appropriate evidence.
13. Please respond promptly to any e-mail received from the University regarding
corrections or verifications needed for your online application.
14. Download your online e-Hall ticket using the provided login details from the date
mentioned on this webpage. Please print a copy and keep it for your future
reference.
15. For technical issues during online submission or any other clarification related to
the entrance examination for the Ph.D. program, please contact the University's

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
2. The written test will be conducted ONLINE on the date specified in the
Notification / Advertisement.
3. The Candidates shall take the written test from their residence with internet and
camera facility.
4. Online Written Test will consist of 50 multiple choice questions for 100 marks. The
questions will cover research aptitude, concept, intellectual ability and subject
knowledge of candidate’s PG Course. The knowledge in main subject will be
tested in case your specialization falls in the grouped subject titles. There is no
negative mark for the wrong answer.
5. The syllabus for this examination is identical to that of the relevant PG programme
at Bharathidasan University.
6. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for the
candidates belonging to BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST/ Differently-abled category.
7. Students who secure 50% marks in the entrance test will be called for interview in a
later date. The dates and venue for the interview will be intimated by e-mail (or)
notified in the university website.
8. The candidate who do not appear for interview will not be considered for final
selection.
9. The Final selection will be based on the entrance test with a weightage of 70% and
30% for the performance in the interview.
10. Mere clearing of this Qualifying Examination, without fulfilling other eligibility
requirements, will not entitle the candidate with any valid claim.
11. The e-Certificate will be issued by the University with the validity of 5 years for
the qualified candidates. Students are permitted to get Registered for Ph.D.
programme (both Full-time / Part-time) in the University Departments, Affiliated
Colleges and other Approved Research Centres of Bharathidasan University within
that duration.
12. The Successful candidates shall download the e-Certificate as soon as the result
declared.
