them an envelop field with letters .Ask them to arrange the letters letters
to form the word “carbohydrates”.

(Show a picture of a hungry and weak child) PPT Presentation
Let them choose some foods that they think would give the child
some energy to survive throughout the day.
EXPLAIN- Teach the concept ( 20 minutes)
1.Define carbohydrates PPT Presentation
2.Introduce the two basic compounds the makes up a
carbohydrate.
-Aldehydes-These are double-bonded carbon and oxygen atoms,
plus a hydrogen atom
-Ketones-These are double-bonded carbon and oxygen atoms ,
plus two additional carbon atoms
3.Talk about the functions of carbohydrates
4.Introduce the different types of carbohydrates
5.Talk about how carbohydrates can lead to diabetes

ELABORATE-Let the students discover concept (5 minutes)


1.Give some rubrics Brown envelop
2.Group the students into 3 then let them perform the tasks inside
the brown envelop.
-Make a drama about the differences between eating simple and
complex carbohydrates.
-Make a poem about carbohydrates.
-Compose a song about the importance of carbohydrates in our
lives.
EVALUATE –Quiz ( 5 minutes)
1.Let the students get one fourth sheet of paper and let them
answer the given questions.

vegetables , and milk products. (CARBOHYDRATES)

EXTEND (15 minutes)
Read the situation below then come up with the appropriate Activity sheets
budget proposal. The budget proposal should be clear, realistic
and make use of linear inequalities in two variables and other
mathematical statements.

Due to the rising prices of commodities, you decided to raise


broiler chickens for your family’s consumption. You sought
permission from your parents and asked them to give you
some amount to start with. Your parents agreed to give you
some money; however, they still need to see how will you use
it. They asked you to prepare a budget proposal for the chicken
house that you will be constructing, the number of chickens to
be raised, the amount of chicken feeds, and other expenses.
