a) The length, breath and height of a rectangular solid are in the ratio [3]
5 : 4 : 2. If the total surface area is 1216 cm2, find the length breath
and height of the solid.

b) In the given circle, chord AB = 24 cm, PQ = 6 cm. QP is perpendicular [3]


to AB. Find the radius of the circle.
c) In the following figure, OA = OC and AB = BC. Prove that: [4]

Question 9
a) Find the area of the triangle whose sides are 30 cm, 24 cm and [3]
18 cm. Also find the length of the altitude corresponding to the
smallest side of the triangle.

b) Below is a circle with centre C. A, B, D, and E are points on the [3]


circumference. BD is a diameter of the circle and ∠CDA is 18°.
Find the size of ∠EDA.

c) Factorise:

(3x – 2y)2 + 3 (3x – 2y) – 10

a) The sum of the numerator and denominator of a fraction is 8. If 3 is [3]
